Wonderful hotel — I highly recommend it to anyone who has the chance to visit! The accommodation is amazing, and we were extremely well taken care of by the whole team. Martha was always very attentive, and our game drive guide was absolutely fantastic — he gave us unforgettable experiences that will stay in our memories forever. We were initially unsure about the number of animals in the reserve, but it far exceeded our expectations! It was simply incredible — we saw all the Big Five and many other species. Compared to Kruger, this was an even more impressive and memorable experience for us — we were able to see the animals right next to us, without needing binoculars. The hotel has a lake in front of the reception area where the animals come to drink water, and we were lucky enough to watch many elephants from the hide, including baby elephants playing and taking a bath. Everything was perfect — thank you so much to the entire team for this extraordinary experience!

Incredible safari experience

We had an amazing time at Rhulani. The service was absolutely top-notch, the food was excellent (and plentiful), and the amenities on-site were fantastic. We had a great game drive guide who showed us all of the animals we wanted to see. Would absolutely stay again.

We had a great time at Rhulani, with the most unique feature we enjoyed being the Tsembo Hide. The Luxury Private Chalet was a good size for my husband and I and our our two children. The heated plunge pool was an hit with our kids. Our chalet did run out of hot water quite quickly, so keep this in mind if you’re hoping for a long outdoor shower! Our guide Alisdair was great and our game drives were exceptional. I appreciated that Rhulani accommodated me as a vegetarian and the food was decent (not anything to write home about but ok). My husband and children enjoyed their meat options but did have a hard time cutting the meat as no steak knives were provided. I would have liked a bit more options for food prior to the morning game drives and a more substantial snack on the morning drive (sometimes we didn’t stop at all for a snack). I found myself absolutely starving after getting up at 4am and not having breakfast until almost 9am some days. We found Rhulani to be a small lodge with not a lot of interaction between guests or with staff. This was fine for us as travellers with small kids. However, if travelling solo or as a couple/friend group you may want a slightly bigger lodge with more of a “vibe” at night (we have previously been on a similar safari prior to having kids and enjoyed the evening atmosphere at the other lodge we stayed at where guests would socialize etc ). Overall we had a great time and would go to Rhulani again!

Had the most incredible time - can’t speak highly enough of the entire team who work here to make this a really once in a life time experience. From delicious food (you will not go hungry trust me!) to the walking talking encyclopaedia of a guide (thanks Dean!) this is a truly special place. Everthing is done with a smile and all your needs are taken care of. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely perfect!! We genuinely couldn’t fault a thing about Rhulani, staff were all great, the guides were brilliant, food was fantastic…would more than recommend for your safari experience. The game park of Madiwake has everything you could hope to see, the whole experience was magical.

I like everything about the property from location to setting and privacy of the rooms, Staff were so friendly and nice . We didn’t like the selection, variety and quality of the food . The only thing would prevent me of returning to the lodge is just the food .

Absolutamente tudo no Rhulani me encantou! A equipe sempre nos recebe com muita gentileza e educação. Temos água disponível o tempo todo, assim como comidas deliciosas! O quarto é lindo, muito confortável e agradável. As refeições são excelentes e os games são bem privativos, com carros confortáveis. Nosso ranger, Ralf, foi um caso a parte! Simpático, competente, divertido e sempre disposto a nos mostrar o melhor da região. Eu voltaria sempre ao Rhulani. Foi uma experiência memorável!

What an amazing stay. The hospitality was incredible and there is a watering hole near the lodges. Our guide was excellent and it was a quiet safari lodge. Fed constantly :-), the rooms were comfortable and the plunge pool excellent.

A trip of a lifetime

My husband and I had an amazing time at Rhulani. Such a unique experience that we would cherish for the rest of our lives. We saw 4/5 of the big five in the three nights we stayed at Rhulani. We also saw so many other animals and brids. The staff was so nice. We missed our flight and Lisa was able to find us a road transfer in very little time. Saving us from a very stressful moment. The food was great, you’ll never go hungry at Rhulani. Very well kept and clean. The rooms are lovely with stunning views. Sean was our ranger and he made our trip even that much better. Very knowledgeable and friendly.

Stayed at Rhulani Lodge as we celebrated milestone birthdays. Outstanding experience. We were greeted with warm towels and warm smiles by the staff. That feeling of welcome continued through our visit. Food - breakfast, high tea and dinner - all excellent. Beautiful rooms with private pools. Our guide was Sean Townsend. The best! Two safaris daily. Sean explained what we were seeing and did his best to track animals. Yes we saw the big 5. We also stopped while in the bush for drinks in the evening and hot drinks in the morning. I'm glad I had the opportunity to have this adventure. I highly recommend it!

Amazing hotel in the bushes

Wow what an amazing experience. The hotel is unbelievably well managed. Food is super gourmet, staff is so nice and kind and professional. You can't ask for a better place. Carla is so helpful for anything to arrange for you and Riian was the best safari driver. I would love to come again to the exact same place. Big thumbs up. Never experienced this before. A must.
