Our stay was for just one night, because I had a procedure at the nearby hospital. My reservations said we could check in at 12a.m, which I admittedly misread as 12p.m. When we arrived the check in clerk said check was at 3, but the rooms were already clean, so she would override the computer and let us in. She also told us that they were closing for remodeling the day we checked out, which explains the poor conditions of so many things, including the service. My wife was given a slip to order breakfast. When she went down to get it, she was told they were out of everything single thing she asked for. The floors must've mopped with dirty water. My wife took her shower in flip flops. We had to wash our feet at the bed before putting them under the covers. I could go on, but given the fact they will remodel, I hope these issues will be remedied. It just feels like we were overcharged for these poor conditions.
Possibly the most disgusting hotel that I have ever encountered. There was a pile of dirty towels outside my door when I arrived. The toilet had not been cleaned in my room or the room where my daughter stayed. My non-smoking room reeked of cigarette smoke. I could go on and on (including the crickets in the room that kept me away at night). I had planned to stay for two nights but left after one sleepless night. A horrible experience.
When i arrived at 1:45pm I wasnt allowed to check-in until 3pm.The Hotel was not over booked it was being remodeled. I was already second guessing my stay because i dont like hotel's with outside entrance to the rooms (Sadly) I stayed there? was no batteries in the remote and no one ever got me any
Plus Im still investigating my unwanted hitchhikers that came home with me (Bedbugs, )
I forgot that I had been at this hotel several years ago. Not an improvement. Not easy to locate, still looks like a construction site...not very inviting. After waiting to get checked in, my key didn't work in the door and it took several staff to finally get it worked out. Then a staff member came in my room to check for cleanliness. Said new staff working there and things hadn't been done. I did notice dust on microwave, etc and a hand towel was damp, so I wasn't sure about anything. The TV remote was taped at battery location. I ordered a "bag breakfast" for the next morning and got apple juice instead of bottled water. I went to the office and they said they didn't have any. I guess I got what I paid for...
The facility is old and not kept up well. The former access road is now blocked due to nearby loud construction, and the temporary access road is almost impossible to find the first time. The smoke-free facility reeked of cigarette smoke, especially when the air conditioner was operating. The grounds crew contractors started their loud leaf blowing and weed whacking activity at 6:30 a.m. The swimming pool, lovely in the ad photo is closed and covered over, but no mention made of this during the reservation process. No elevator to the 2nd floor, so travel light!
The two positive things to mention:
1. It was one of only 2 hotels in Chapel Hill that had vacancies at the time, and
2. It was RELATIVELY cheap. (You get what you pay for!)
Towels were stained & looked used. A used bar of soap was left in shower. No working appliances. ie..Fridge,Tv, Microwave. Walls were damaged & overall room in disrepair. Very seedy. Left & found lodging elsewhere @ 10:00pm after 8 hour drive! Told there were no other rooms.
I didn’t expect a lot and I got less The best thing was the clerk on arrival. I got a 2nd floor room but with awful knees asked about an elevator. Nope. The room was filthy. Had to wash the mirror to see. Towel came back black. Smelled of heavy cigarettes. Laminate floor too dirty to step on with bare feet.
Very disappointing. In past years, this has been a good, low cost place to stay. This time, we had to move twice, before we got a room where most things worked. The first one had no power to TV, microwave, refrigerator, etc. Second room’s air conditioning failed after one night. The third room was okay, but it had only one lamp and no lights that worked from the switch by the door. Key cards usually failed after a couple of uses and often the replacements didn’t work. The desk staff were helpful, but it seemed as if there were almost no maintenance people. It appears the company is letting the place run down. I will not return.
The place needs an update ASAP.. very old AC… it did not smell clean.. smelled like was a smoking room.. I do not recommend… only if you really don’t have the money to stay in a little better place!

I needed the pool for physical therapy reasons, but the pool was closed. Nowhere on the website did it say that the pool was closed. If I had known, I would have chosen other lodging.
My experience here was not terrible, but not the best. The bed was clean and comfortable, and that's what most mattered. However, the toilet seat had a sticky residue, the floor had large dead ants, the noise outside my door was unpleasant, the pool was not open (still fully covered), breakfast consisted of a checklist that was not followed, the front desk coffee machines were empty, etc. Poorly managed and unkempt. Does not live up to the "Quality" in its name.

The front desk clerk Dollar Bill was awesome. He was quite welcoming and friendly. A nice welcome after a long day of travel.
The a/c and refrigerator were incredibly noising making it difficult to sleep. In addition opening the curtains meant that people could see into the room; there were no drapes that allow light in but that also kept prying eyes out. Most unsatisfactory experience.
Property condition & facilities are all old, unlike the web.
There were a lot of stains left in the aisle, paper cups had fallen, the fence was covered with yellow tape, and it was not a comfortable stay.
The room should be non-smoking, but it smelled of cigarettes.

We had a hard time finding the place. It is listed on Fordham Blvd. you can’t get to it from Fordham. I called the place & the desk clerk helped us get there, we had rode around about an hour..It’s off Legion Rd. Lots of construction going on up & down Fordham Rd. I like to stay on Fordham because it’s easy access to the UNC Hospital..
