La Maison du Voyage: an invitation to relax and explore Raiatea.

Located on the west coast, in Tevaitoa, 13.7 km from Uturoa, in the municipality of Tumaraa, "La Maison du Voyage" welcomes you in a peaceful and beautiful setting with a breathtaking view of Mount Temehani. This haven of tranquility, in the heart of a 1000 m2 wooded property, quiet and secure, is the ideal place for a relaxing stay. In rainy weather, you can even observe superb waterfalls that add to the charm of the place.
The property consists of two parts:
• A guesthouse, with several bedrooms and common areas.
• A 95 m² single-storey, fully private guest house comprising two bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom and toilet.
The entrances to the rooms are independent, which guarantees comfort and privacy.
With a modern design, it is fully equipped and guarantees you all the necessary comfort.
The bedrooms are air-conditioned, fans with a mini-fridge and hairdryer,
• Bedroom 4 (15 m²): A 140 cm bed (very comfortable) and a private shower room/WC.
• Bedroom 5 (18 m²): A 180 cm bed (very comfortable), with a private shower room/WC, as well as a sheltered terrace of 7 m² equipped with a table and chairs.

The ground floor offers a fully equipped modern kitchen (coffee maker, microwave, fridge, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher) and a comfortable living room with a 4-seater sofa and a large TV.
It has polycarbonate roller shutters and two remote-controlled air fans. Guests can enjoy a 180° panoramic view of Mount Temehani. There is also a toilet, a shower room and a sink. A washing machine and dryer are available.

In the centre of the property, you will have access to the common areas: swimming pool with massage jets and fare potee. You may come across some of our travellers in these spaces, which often creates a friendly atmosphere, while maintaining your independence and tranquility.
Concerned about preserving the environment, the house works thanks to photovoltaic panels, and we set up a selective sorting of waste, as well as composting of green waste.

Raiatea, the sacred island, is the 2nd largest island in Polynesia in its area after Tahiti. The tour of the island is 100 km. It is therefore preferable to rent a vehicle to visit the island and the marae of Taputapuatea, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Tour operators offer guided outings. The Maison du Voyage is located 13 km from the city centre of Uturoa which has a fruit and vegetable market and local crafts as well as many shops. We have the beach 1.5 km away and you can take the opportunity to visit the small marae Tainuu nearby, or swim with fins, mask and snorkel and marvel at the seabed. The Maison du voyage has access to the sea at 100 m and we provide canoes and kayaks.
Raiatea is located in the same lagoon as its sister island Tahaa, the vanilla island that you can visit (visit Rum factory, pearl farm, snorkelling at the coral garden, visit the vanilla plantation) by boat, via many tour operators.
On the mountain side, hikes are possible nearby and this will allow you to discover the diversity of the flora.
