Top Quittelsdorf Hotel Reviews

Recent Reviews in Quittelsdorf

Hotel Adler

Hotel Adler

10/10 Excellent
"When I originally booked my stay, comments from previous guests described the decor as old and outdated. I found the opposite. The building is old (German poet Schiller once stayed there), but the room was modern throughout with walk in shower and staff very professional and polite. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel is right on the market square in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of everything. A farmer’s market is in the market square in front of the hotel several times a week as well as a stand with Thuringian bratwurst. A tourist info center by the market square next to city hall (Rathaus) was very helpful. I highly recommend the Adler Hotel in Rudolstadt."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Quittelsdorf?
The best area to stay in Quittelsdorf is within the village itself, particularly near the central green or the local church.

This area provides a peaceful base for exploring the surrounding Thuringian countryside. The village is small and easily navigated on foot, with a few guesthouses and holiday flats dotted around its quiet streets. You'll find yourself surrounded by traditional German architecture and well-maintained gardens.

For couples seeking a quiet retreat, staying directly in Quittelsdorf offers a chance to relax and enjoy the rural setting. You can take leisurely walks through the village, explore the nearby forests, and experience the local hospitality. The pace of life here is slow, great for unwinding.

Families with young children will also appreciate the calm environment of Quittelsdorf. The absence of heavy traffic makes it a nice place for children to play, and there are often open spaces or small parks within walking distance.
When is the best time to go to Quittelsdorf?
The best time to visit Quittelsdorf, Thuringia, is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) months. These periods offer the most pleasant weather for exploring the region.

During late spring, the countryside around Quittelsdorf comes alive with lush greenery and blooming flowers. The temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 15°C to 20°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling in the nearby Thuringian Forest. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Early autumn also provides excellent conditions. The weather remains comfortable, usually between 10°C and 18°C, and the landscape is painted with beautiful autumnal colours. This is a great time for enjoying scenic drives through the region and visiting local vineyards as they prepare for the harvest.
