If you are looking for a quiet place with no mass tourism with nice beaches and true tropical feeling, this is it! Relaxing at a nice small pool under palm trees, listening to the nearby Pacific Ocean, drinking perfectly made cocktails and enjoying one of the most stunning sunsets we ever have seen. Staff is amazingly friendly and welcoming. This place is absolutely recommendable.

If you are not pretentious, and can live with a couple things, this is a great place. The staff was very nice. They just aren’t used to us North American’s down here as well. The food was actually very good there. The best part is being right on the beach.

Nice setting, but in disrepair

We enjoyed Sunset Del Mar, but many things werre broken or in poor condition. I went to sit by the pool and the lounger collapsed and my back was wrenched. Many things didn't work properly.The staff was very nice abd Esterrillos is spectacular.

Great location but needs some "management"

Great location. Beautiful setting and pool area. Shallets pleasant but very little wardrobe space (OK for a weekend stay). Plumbing a big problem. Toilet did not work in first shallet. Took 24 hours to prepare a suitable alternative which had water leak by toilet. Restaurant pleasant but choice of food not great. Staff pleasant but not particularly helpful or friendly.

A lovely relaxing stay in a beautiful setting.

I stayed at the resort for 5 evenings and can thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a very relaxing few days. I particularly enjoyed the friendliness of the staff all the way from the manager to the bar/ restaurant, reception and cleaning staff. Everyone was very friendly and courteous. The accommodation allocated was very comfortable and spotlessly clean (cleaned every day). The pool area was large with sufficient space for all those who wished to use it. The gym was well equipped. I ate in the restaurant each evening and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Breakfast was provided and a wide range of options available. The hotel / resort sits directly on the beach (fine sand no stones) and it excellent for walking several miles in each direction.👍 The nearest shops are 2 miles away (30 minute walk) or 10 mins if you have a car. If you don’t have access to a car then your only option in order to get to the resort is a taxi from either Jaco or Quepos which will cost approx $50 from Jaco. To summarise a very enjoyable and relaxing stay which I would heartily recommend.

The most important thing about going on a relaxing vacation is being able to sleep in a comfortable bed and Sunset definitely delivered with fresh, plush bedding comfortable mattress with topper, and great pillows. Rooms are very clean and modern. Hotel is right on a nice big, quiet beach. With a pool and restaurant on site what more could you possibly need? Desk manager is awesome, the restausant staff, grounds and security staff all very freindly and accommodating. Any problems are dealt with efficiently and to your satisfaction. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice relaxing few days away from the hustle and bustle of the hire traffic areas and at a reasonable price relative to other hotels in Costa Rica.The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that this property is best suited to someone with a car. A backpcker will have a long walk off the main road to get here. Although there may be a shuttle from the main road to the hotel my wife tells me.

We very much enjoyed our stay! This beautiful resort is quiet and the staff were very accommodating. Rates were very reasonable. Great waves for surfing and a nice pool for the kids. We had stayed here once before and were not disappointed. This is a great place for a family vacation!

Great location, we loved that we could step outside and there was the ocean. Very beautiful property and was in the middle of Jaco and Manuel Antonio, amenities were amazing. We were very comfortable and happy with our stay. The service is not as efficient as I would have liked and the restaurant okay.
