About this property

Updated barn apartment near Strasburg, Sight & Sound Theatre in Amish Country

  • Our cozy, country barn apartment is located on our nine acre farmette. The entire apartment is located on the second floor of the barn. The setting is very private along a quiet country road, surrounded by Amish farms. Visit the goats, chickens and any other animals we may currently have, take a hike into the woods, roast some marshmallows over the fire, or just relax and enjoy the view of the beautiful countryside from the kitchen window while the kids play outside on the swingset.

    We are located 6 miles from Sight and Sound Theaters, 5 miles from Strasburg Railroad, and within 10 miles of Cherry - Crest Farm, American Music Theater, Rockvale and Tanger Outlets, and many other Amish country attractions including Dutch Wonderland.

    Since we started out as a more traditional Bed and Breakfast years ago, I still enjoy stocking the kitchen with a light supply of breakfast items to get you started out such as bread for toasting, pastries, fruit, hot and cold drinks, cereals, farm fresh eggs, etc.

We had a fabulous stay! Highly recommend! So clean and comfortable. We travel a lot, and this is one of the best places we have stayed. We went to Sight & Sound, outlets, Cherry Crest farm, and all were in close proximity. We plan to stay here again next year.

This was by far the best property we have rented through VRBO! Sara was a wonderful host; super easy to communicate with and so hospitable. It was so nice to have fresh breakfast food waiting for us and my kids enjoyed the playground & basketball hoop. The property was an easy drive to local attractions. We loved our stay. We enjoyed several activities like sight and sound, the Santa train, and Dutch wonderland. The host was very accommodating and even provided food that we enjoyed. The home was very clean and the craftsmanship was very good. Very quaint and quiet.

Beautiful Serene Setting

We had a great time! The kids loved the playground and feeding the goats. The place was beautiful. It fit our family of five perfectly. We loved the country setting and yet we were only 15-20 minutes from a grocery store, Dutch Wonderland, The Windmill Farm, and The Railroad Museum.

My favorite and only place I stay in the Lancaster area

I could immediately feel the stress release as I arrived at this stunningly peaceful place. There’s fresh fruit and muffins in the kitchen so no worries if you arrive hungry. The property is beautifully maintained and sunsets against a serene landscape can be seen from the kitchen table. The apartment is comfortable, tastefully done, and spotlessly clean- Not even a watermark on the shower door! Be sure to stop in Sara’s market for the pot pies and cinnamon buns!

The perfect getaway to share with three generations!

My grandparents, mom and myself spent 4 wonderful nights here. The place was beautifully decorated and not to mention, immaculate! When we walked into the place, it felt just like home. Sara had provided us with essentials and goodies, which made it easy for us to settle in right away. Location is perfect as you get to experience the quiet countryside, but are just a short drive away from multiple different towns. Thank you so much for making our trip comfortable and relaxing. My friends and I have claimed this place as our little slice of paradise that’s just a short drive from our homes. All of our stress is immediately gone when we arrive in this beautiful barn apartment that’s set on lovely grounds with a farm view off in the near distance. The property is beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home and impeccably maintained in and out. Sara is responsive to all of our needs and has the kitchen set with all the essentials, including fruit, milk, coffee, and more. I look forward to our next stay and it can’t come soon enough!

We enjoyed our stay at the barn so much! It was very well appointed, clean and comfortable. The decor was so pretty, We immediately felt at home. The beds are super comfortable. There were several little extra touches that were greatly appreciated, like yogurt, muffins, granola, milk, eggs and juice. It was very relaxing to sit outside in the morning quiet. So peaceful! We will certainly be back.
