This property is "a little piece of heaven." It was our second time visiting from the U.S. and a big reason we came back to New Zealand was to experience this wonderful property again. It did not disappoint. It is one of our favorite places we have been to - ever! And we have traveled a lot. Can't say enough good things.

The property is conveniently located, though a car is still needed to get into town. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet, with comfortable beds, good heating, and a sizeable fridge. The furnishings were older than expected, but this wasn’t an issue. The bathtub had spa jets that didn’t work — not in the listing, so not a scam, just a brief moment of joy followed by mild disappointment.
We had difficulty reaching reception prior to arrival, though check-in and check-out were smooth — likely because we arrived and departed outside of peak hours. Our room was on the first floor with no lift or ramp access, making it tricky to bring up our luggage trolley. Fortunately, the staff were kind enough to deliver our bags using the staff lift. Overall, a pleasant stay.
