My family of four decided to take a summer trip to Pyeongchang to get away from the heat of the city. Plus we wanted to see where the winter Olympics in 2018 would be held. The pension was huge, we could have fit ten people in our "house" easily. Our room also came with complimentary tickets to a sheep farm (the largest privately owned sheep farm in Korea) about 35 minutes away. Otesan is quite close by and has some really gorgeous temples. Out of this world.
We stayed three nights, it's nice and cool in July in Pyeongchang so bring some jackets! It's too cool for mosquitoes, which is great because hiking the trails in the mountains (even with small kids) is lovely.
This pension is probably really great during the ski season for all the people wanting to hit the slopes. You can see the lift on the mountain from the front door.
The pension has a little general store with food, milk, alcohol, kitchen and grilling supplies in case you forget anything. Also town isn't far and the restaurants we went to were really good and the staff were very friendly.
