The Space:

The apartment is located on the first floor and is accessible via a staircase. It features a separate bedroom that sleeps two, as well as a living/dining room with a sofa bed for two additional guests. The open-concept kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, oven, stove, coffee maker, and other kitchen utensils, so you can easily prepare your own meals.



The living area invites you to relax with a TV, Wi-Fi, and board games. From the balcony with its beach chair, you can enjoy the fresh harbor air. The bathroom is functionally furnished and includes a hair dryer, among other amenities.



Guest Access:

Guests have exclusive use of the entire apartment, including the balcony. A reserved parking space is located right next to the building. Bicycles can be parked on the property. Wi-Fi is available free of charge.



The Neighborhood:

The apartment is located in Lauterbach, one of the most beautiful and peaceful towns on Rügen. The harbor is just a short walk away and offers a special atmosphere with its restaurants, fish stands, and moored sailboats. Excursion boats depart from here, including trips to the island of Vilm.

The surrounding area offers numerous opportunities for water sports, bike tours, and nature exploration, such as in the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve or the “Goor” beech forest. Shopping, restaurants, and the Lauterbach Mole train station are all within walking distance. The historic royal seat of Putbus is about 3 km away.



What makes it special is its close proximity to the harbor basin. River cruise ships

and large sailboats dock at the quay wall. There are two restaurant boats there where you can get fresh fish and fish sandwiches.

There are many food stalls at the harbor.

The White Fleet sails across the Bodden under “steam and water,” after which you board the speedy

Roland, the museum train, and ride back to Lauterbach Mole.

A boat goes to the nature reserve island of Vilm, where the forest has been left to its own devices for 300 years.

Then in Lauterbach we have the “Goor,” this wonderful beech forest, and the "South Rügen

Biosphere Reserve,“ a large landscape conservation area. And we have the ”Goor Bathhouse," a

200-year-old neoclassical building, now a hotel.

In Lauterbach on the promenade, there is a stone-paved swimming area with deep water for swimming;

in Neudorf (4 km), there is a long sandy beach with shallow water, ideal for children.

Then there’s the large “imJaich” marina with its stilt houses, shipyard, and boat storage sheds—a world of its own

beyond the railroad embankment. Here you can rent boats of all types and sizes or book sailing lessons.

Lauterbach has many restaurants and an Edeka supermarket with a bakery.

Lauterbach Mole, about 300 m from Haus Katharina, is also the terminus of the federal railway.

Buses depart from the harbor in all directions.

Putbus is within walking distance (approx. 3 km). There we find a gem; the town center is a

listed historic site.

Getting Around:

Transportation links are excellent: train and bus stops are located right nearby. From Lauterbach Mole, you can easily reach other parts of the island. Popular destinations like Binz are about a 15-minute drive away. Cyclists also benefit from well-maintained bike paths along the coast.
