The hotel, the location and the proximity to the beach were excellent. But the one thing that stood out was Mitchel, the concierge, he was super helpful, very proactive and always checking with us to ensure all was going ok. We got some really great suggestions on tours, restaurants, shopping. One in our group was a vegan and Mitchel suggest this vegan place called Oli, we all loved it!. Mitchel, you were fantastic!

This hotel does not represent a five star hotel. Upon arrival there was a situation at check in which prompted my desire to speak to the manager. The assistant asked the manger over the phone to come and meet me personally at my request. The manager had the excuse of a “zoom” meeting, for which I asked to please contact me immediately. For two days not one attempt to contact me and resolve the issue. I have stayed at several 5 stars hotels in Punta del Este and Montevideo and have never seen a manager that cares so little for its costumers. It seems to be a money-hungry system where you feel just like a number. The manager Gabriel should get out of his office and provide its staff members better training in costumer service, and more importantly, use a little of personal “touch” to handle certain situations rather than staying behind a desk. Staff seems upset, not friendly, all around the property, except for vallet boys upfront. I will not return to this hotel in the future, and recommend Expedia to remove it advertising it as a 5 start hotel. Hence the huge discount promotions you see lately. You can feel it. It is a mediocre 3 star hotel level. They lack costumer service training and professionalism. It does not represent a good experience to a future traveler that wish to receive outstanding service. It looks old, outdated and not very convenient. Construction site right next to the left side of the hotel makes it unbearable to relax with the noise level.

We asked the concierge to make a reservation at Casa Pueblo. They were for two days telling that "they are not answering us". But they never gave us a feedback about that. We had to ask about it every time. When I saw that that woul not go anywhere, I decided to get a phone number and make the reservation by myself. It was literally 15 minutes for me to get it done ( by whatsapp ). If ai knew that, I would never have asked the concierge. Another day, there was a big thunderstorm. When i arrived at the room, there was a leak coming from the window, that created a big mess on the carpet floor, adding that part of the dry wall revestment was falling. I personally came to the front desk to complain about that. They simply told "thank you" but didnt even send a maintenance person to check about that. So I slept with a pretty bad smell in my room. Next day, the cleaners were in the room. When I got back, i simply saw the bad made, but the dry wall pieces were still on the floor. Nobody ever asked about that, even during checkout.

Solid Hotel
Friendly staff and nice hotel. Staff made special efforts for a birthday without even being told-only based on the registration. Front desk was very helpful in making reservations and remembered to update us without having to be asked. They also remembered our language preferences. Food and drinks were high quality. Gorgeous views of the water. Overall worth the price and I would book again. Minor inconveniences: The 50% spa discount advertised here only applies to one item which they don’t tell you unless asked and the spa itself is somewhat lackluster and doesn’t give an immersive experience-it is more transactional. The location is good but slightly isolated from walking to dinner places vs other closer hotels with similar accommodations.

The Grand Hotel was amazing! They have great amenities. The outdoor pool was my favorite. My room was very clean and super comfortable. Location wise it’s right across from playa brava and about a 5 min drive into town.

Carpeting amd lighting appliances in this 5 star hotel is not up to standard. Due to Covid this hotel has just reopened but stains on carpeting in the rooms, oxidized lamp shades and wall paper lifting is not a standard for a 5 star hotel. Apart from that the service was great

Beautiful hotel, very clean Basic breakfast, average dining options (the fine dining is nowhere fine) The worst is the absolutely impersonal experience A property that cares mostly about long time customers Nothing to remember about the experience; staff barely says “hi” and not a single staff member asked “How is your stay? Everything ok ?” Definitely not 5 stars, and not geared towards international crowds If you are one of the old time customers forget about going to this property

The details of the decoration are remarkable. Every corner is used as a show of good taste. The lamps, the chairs, the coffee tables, the paintings, etc, By far one of the finest hotels I have ever been and I have been in many in my long live. Great stay! Would visit again. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Every room has a view of the ocean. The bathrooms are large have a separate Jacuzzi tub from the shower. There are activities scheduled by the hotel. Beach towels or Friday at the beach club. Breakfast was outstanding.

Not a 5 star hotel: unacceptable service
Located next to the beach with their own beach club, which is probably the best part of the hotel. We had several issues, including but not limited to extremly slow cleaning of the room even when telling them when to come, nobody answering for 30 minutes plus when asking for room service or a dental kit. The property is not in good condition to be so new. Some days the bathroom was smelling so much that we couldnt go in there. The breakfast is not very nice, 2/5 maximum. They offered us free lunch and drinks as compensation for their mistakes and poor service, which was a nice gesture.
