Accommodation was clean and well kept. Diving centre next door was excellent "Leisure Divers" Malay cuisine for breakfast each day was repetitive and could be better eg more fruit etc and add some western. Location was not so good in that the "beach" was mostly mud flat throughout the day with no sandy bottom and so not really suitable for casual swimming. Staff were good and friendly.

Deluxe room with poolview - Nice from the outside! Inside large room, sparsely decorated. No balcony furniture. The bed and the part of the room where the bed was smelled damp and sour. Under the bed was 2cm! of dust and dirt. The bathroom was so run down and full of mould. The door had to be kept closed to not have the smell in the room. The room was dark with strange lightning. No cosy or nice feeling at all. I'm not very picky, but would never recommend it or stay there again. The pool though was nice! Reception staff nice and helpful! The staff in the restaurant very lazy, not welcoming at all, stuck up and it felt like you were bothering them if you e.g. ordered an ice cream. They sighed in front of you and tried to give the "chore" to someone else.

BEACHFRONT hotel
Super friendly staff made the trip memorable. We had an amazing room that was beachfront with a balcony. Shower was a bit dated but we didn’t mind as we spent most of our time enjoying the island!

hotel staff is really friendly and good stay.
The staff is really friendly and give a warm welcome to the guest. As for the room utilities need to improve such as to provide water heater iron and iron board as well as it is basic necessity use for the guest. Toilet utilities need to be improved more.

The worst value for money hotel in Perhentian
Not recommended to stay in this hotel again. Everything is not up to the 3 star standard that it is supposed to be except probably the pool. Half of the staff are not friendly, rooms are not worth the price and not clean up unless being told, low water pressure in the bathroom, lack of choice for breakfast and the beach front are one of the worst spot at the island with full of rocks and dead corals.

Great location for a few days R and R.
Located on the beach. The rooms are motel style with views over the central swimming pool. The rooms are basic but are of a good size and have a/c. Hotel staff are friendly and the breakfast is acceptable for the room rate we paid.

Nice simple family stay
Check-in process was easy and could enter our rooms even though we arrived very early. The pool could have been cleaner but it did not stop us from swimming in it. They could do better with the creepy crawlies in the room but it did not make us uncomfortable. The staff were very welcoming and kind and made the stay very pleasant. There was a movie on every night for the guests and that was great.

View from the room was beautiful. The staff were helpful but seem to be "under instruction" i.e. unable to do anything more than the bare minimum. Room was very sparsely furnished (no TV so do bring books to read). however, my booking stated that the room has a desk but there's was none. It stated that there was a bus on the beach or beach taxi, please note that you must pay for it. I asked for an extra bed for our son and got a mattress on the floor of the room (which was not an extra bed - just a mattress on the floor) The food at the Arwana restaurant was good and the restaurant staff were professional - so we had all our meals there. So when we were settling our bill before billing, I found out that I could pay cash or by credit card at the Dive Shop "next door" (and that the dive shop next door takes a 10% "fee"). This 10% is daylight robbery (I know of some shops taking 2%-3% and am already unhappy about that). I will not be returning to Arwana because I am not willing to carry around hundreds of (or over a thousand) Malaysian ringgit in cash.

A nice place to stay with kids
The room was spacious and clean with a window facing towards a noisy jungle (it was a very nice noise though) . Breakfasts were ok with variety of Malaysian and some Western choices. Every day something else to try. Although we only had 2 breakfasts included in our stay price, they have never asked us to pay for our 5 years old kid breakfasts. We heven't had any lunch or dinner in the hotel as the prices were far too high compare to the other places on the beach. The beach was just ok, very quiet and private, a short and nice 40 minutes jungle trek to much nicer beach (you can spot massive lizards and monkeys while in this bit of the jungle, so it is a great fun for kids). The staff was very friendly. The only dissapointing thing was the pool. The water was dirty, they don't clean it and I don't think they have filters in it. Also around the pool, the rubbish was not collected for a long time.

Buon albergo se non si hanno troppe pretese
Albergo molto confortevole. CAMERE spartane ma con tutto quello che serve. Il posto d' bellissimo di sera, con piccoli ristoranti e bar sulla spiaggia. Per fare mare meglio spostarsi di giorno con i barconi nelle spiagge vicine o nell'isola di fronte. Noi siamo stati benissimo.

Arrivé sûr les lieux à 12h notre chambre était prête La chambre delux somaire avec un lit double 160cm sur 160cm La douche eau froide et chaude séparée avec 2 pommeau différent et pas de pression Derrière la chambre un ruisseau qui fait office d’égout À ciel ouvert Service de chambre très nul Je suis resté une semaine et il sont venu faire la chambre 3 fois et que les draps et pas les changer juste faire le lit et un coup de balai et tout sa a 18h juste après là plage En parlant de la plage Degueulace. Un égout à ciel ouvert ou ça pue la plage est assujetti aux Maree 15h plus d’eaU visibilité zéro poisson zéro franchement c’e La pire plage que j’a Vue la mer du nord est plus belle Restaurant zéro bon mais sans plus Personnel pas gentil du tout ETAt général médiocre En général cette hôtel et sa situation a cassé nos vacances Franchement si vous devez faire les Perhentian fuyez cette hôtel et sa situation sur l’ile De Besar elle va vous dégoûté des Perhentian à vie c’est vraiment pas la carte postale qu’on Voulais Personnellement 1er et dernière fois Bonne chance a tous

Buena relación calidad-precio, la verdad es que la situación es privilegiada, playa tranquila, con varios lugares para comer al lado del hotel, hacer snorkel, kayak, etc. El hotel está más o menos en condiciones, la habitación cómoda, buena piscina, ideal para pasar unos días, sin grandes lujos, pero de lo mejorcito de la zona sino quieres pagar un dineral en algún resort de lujo. Nosotros volveríamos desde luego

A good stay for a few days
The hotel is just on the beach and Nice view. Service was very good and kind staff. It was a bit sandy in our room. In general it was not very new hotel but it was comfortable and worked well for us. Had a pool and a resataurant. And there was some other places on the same beach to eat at. In general we had a nice visit.

OK zum Übernachten ohne weitere Ansprüche
Wir waren im September für 7 Nächte im Arwana. Die Unterkunft war okay, allerdings sind Schränke (kaputte Türe) und Badezimmer etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Sobald die Unterkunft über uns besetzt war, konnte man jeden Schritt hören. Das Frühstück war okay, allerdings sehr einseitig. Man darf keine Ansprüche an ein vielseitiges Obstbuffet haben - jeden Morgen gab es nur Wassermelone und Ananas. Der Pool war einfach voller Algen, obwohl jeden Morgen "gesäubert" wurde. Wasserwechsel wäre effektiver gewesen. Preis ist auf jeden Fall zu hoch für das was geboten wird.

Hôtel Arwana très mauvais souvenir personnel non accueillant et presque inexpressif pas souriant ne pensant qu à. L aspect financier et non à l aspect humain la chambre non nettoyer et drap inchangée pour un séjour de plus de 4 nuit piscine non entretenu petit déjeuner ni fait ni à faire je conseille à toute personne de ne même pas penser à y mettre les pieds pourtant les commentaires disait l inverse on y a cru mai jamais plus fuyez fuyez pompe à fric !!!!pour zéro qualité

산에 다니는 사람이라 괜찮았지만, 관광여행인 경우 좀 불편할 수도... 방에 냉장고가 없어서 볶은 김치등은 데스크에 양해얻고 주방에 보관해서 필요할 때마다 썼고, 컵라면은 끓인물 받아서... 햇반은 코펠 하나 갖고 가서 끓인 물 담아 사용. 사람들은 친절하고 낙천적임. 하루 두번 발전기 리셋함. EC리조트라는걸 마음에 두면 쾌적함. 수영장도 넓고^^ 바로 옆에 훌륭한 다이빙샵이 있음. 작은 섬등과는 멀어서 아주 조용함. 인터넷은 와이파이가 로비에서만 되고, 셀콤 유심인 경우 전화,데이타 잘 터진다고 함^^

Nice bungalows on the beach with sea view
Resort avec beaucoup de chambres sur une magnifique plage avec en plus une belle piscine. Nous avions la chance d'être dans un bungalow sur la plage avec terrasse et vue plage. Les chambres standards (non bungalows) et les chambres donnant derrière ou côté piscine ont l'air beaucoup moins bien. Gros bémol cependant, l'absence de transat dans tout l'hotel que ce soit sur la plage ou au bord de la piscine, dommage! Resort on a beautiful beach with lots of rooms and a nice swimming pool. We had the chance to have a deluxe bungalow on the beach with sea view but all the rooms didn't seem that nice. Weakness of the hotel is the absence of deckchairs both at the swimming pool or on the beach.

Essendo l'unico hotel rimasto disponibile abbiamo dovuto prenotare,ora capisco perché era rimasto solo quello in tutta l'isola.Bisogna solo sperare che non piova mai perché altrimenti sarete costretti a cenare all'interno del "resort" e giuro che è stata un'esperienza davvero pessima.Buono il fatto che le camere fossero vista mare,non curatevi però della pulizia.

We'd from thursday until monday. In the weekend it was very busy with (local) family's. It's not a resort for (younger) couples At first we had a family-room, but the conditions were very bad. The sealing was full of mole and the shower was very bad as well and wasn't working. After one night we changed room, the staff was very kind and understanding. We got a chalet (for two) with sea-sight. The room was okay, the View was beautifull. Most of the Times we didn't had a hot shower. In the 3 nights they never cleaned the room and for toiletpaper and clean towels we had to ask. The breakfast was okay. We had lunch ones, but it wasn't that well. For dinner we went to a little restaurant 200m a head, were you can sit on the beach, a lot of choice, very good food and very cheap. For beer (and other alcohol) there was a little bar next to the restaurant (very affortable) The beach is Nice, but it's far away from the other beaches. It's better tot stay on the side of besar what is across kecil, than its easyer en cheaper tot visit the other beaches. The swimmingpool is Nice. Overal the assort looks okay, bit around the resort and at the back it's a mess and smelly.

Hotel en la playa ideal para familias
Llegamos muy pronto y el personal fue muy amable, nos dejaron utilizar todas las instalaciones. El hotel está en una playa tranquila y preciosa. Nada mas entrar al agua ya se ven los corales y peces de colores. En toda la playa hay sitios para comer, taxi boats y se pueden contratar excursiones. Perfecto para ir con niños.
