Food for your soul
We had a lovely and peacefull stay with the most beautiful ocean view. You are right on the beach. We swam and had walks on the beach everyday. Our hosts were very friendly and accomodating. I would definitely recommend this bach to anybody who love the peace and quite of nature.

Lovely relaxed setting.
This place is a gem. The location is superb, only a short walk down to the beach which was great for fishing. The cabins are comfy and clean and we loved the covered deck for sitting and admiring the ocean and the sunset. Lynette is an awesome host, friendly and helpful. We loved our stay.

Paradise
Wonderfully appointed cabins with quality bedding and everything you need for a restful getaway from life's stressors. It's super quiet with just the sound of the sea and the off moo from the cattle. The beach is your own, so private and absolutely stunning. Oh and the hot tub is the icing on this fabulous coastal cake.

Beach Break
Great place to stay, this place is the quintessential Bach. Our family particularly liked the shaded outdoor area as you can sit out there most of the day without the sun getting you. All our meals we sat out there ate our meals and marvelled at the view. Another big thumbs up is the Hot Tub. It’s easy to use and yet again you get to just relax and take in the wonderful view.

Relaxing beach Bach

Location is the best part of the property. BBQ and toilets weren’t super clean but hosts were easy to communicate with and helped us when we asked.

Hi Matt, Sorry you found Top Deck not to your expectations. Because of the very wet weather and high salt laden winds we have been experiencing the BBQ gets surface rust on it. A lot of guests haven't even used it due to rain. We try to keep it oiled but the rust forms over night. It just needs heating up with oil on it and cleaning off again prior to cooking. I am sorry I neglected to explain this to you. About the toilets, can you tell exactly what the problem was as I do the cleaning myself and I did clean them both. Cheers Lynette

Wonderful stay
Thanks to Lynette and Geoff for a wonderful stay at their bach. It is located on a bluff over the beach on their farm property. There is ultimate privacy. We would walk the beach once or twice daily. Being seniors, we didn't brave the surf and try swimming. No doubt, kids would be in there in a flash. We did day trips in to Tauranga, Rotorua, and Whakatane. The kitchen had everything that we needed. There is a clothes washer and clothes line for drying out back. All in all, it was a very successful and satisfying stay.

Private and relaxing
Great rural bach. Fabulous views of the sea and surrounding working farmland. Sleep and wake up to the sound of waves crushing. Short walk to the long stretch of deserted beach, good for a walk, surfing or playing in the sand, a bit rough for the kids to swim. We took the kids to swim at the estuary about 15 mins drive away and gathered lots of kaimoana. Great house for relaxing and to switch off. We were very fortunate with the weather so we were able to utilise the great outdoor space to hang out and chill. If the weather was wet we might struggle a little bit with the indoor space. Still fabulous views from inside of both cabins though. Thank you Lynette and Geoff, we will be back!

The hosts were friendly and great to deal with. They checked in with us on arrival for a quick run down on how things operated as this place has self sufficient power and water. Awesome views over the ocean right out to Whakaari/White island, Cape Runaway, Motiti Island,/Mayor Island etc. Our daughters were allowed o pat the owners horses and had free reign of the farm. Had the sound of the ocean and the beach was 2 mins walk from the batch. The only issue we had was the weather but of course that is beyond anyone's control. Rained 3 out 4 days we there thanks to Cyclone Hale. We would definitely return.

Overlooking the beachfront
Due to the challenging weather on arrival we found our accommodation space limited but once the weather improved we enjoyed the full potential of this private rural location. We were able to utilise the facilities provided (BBQ, hot tub, lovely outdoor deck- for enjoying the scenery) and walk along the beautiful sandy beach.

Heaven. Gorgeous spot to get away from it all. Windy, but refreshing in the hot months. Only comment would be not an indoor space for any group larger than 3 or 4 to hang out if weather turns. Highly recommend this piece of paradise.

Great property for a summer stay. Not much hang out space if it rained. Luckily for us the weather was beautiful. Beach below Bach was a bit wild fir swimming however worker beaches were a short drive away.

Spectacular bach with wild views
Lovely location. Friendly and helpful property owners treated us throughout our stay with respect and generosity. Had some issues with power outages and back up generator, but owners more than made up for minor inconvenience by prompt attention to attend to the problems. Good honest people. Hospitable and conscientious hosts. Happy to recommend both the accommodation and the hospitality we enjoyed.

This is definitely a wow, the hosts have provided something very very special here and you’ll only know it once you visit it. There’s a hot pool which we used after a morning walk/run and swim at the beach, it was bliss. And again in the evening. The cabins have everything you would need and more. The beds and pillows in the sleeping cabin were like little clouds and I had one of the best sleeps in ages and woke up to hearing the sea. Now the views and location in any weather are breathtaking. This is one book a Bach I will come back to again and again. Stunning!

We had a lovely time away from the city and busy lifestyles we lead. Such a quiet, peaceful place to stay, listening to the waves crashing on the shore and the birds singing in the morning. Although it was windy, we still managed to catch some sun. The facilities were perfect and the hosts welcomed us and made sure we had everything we needed.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful 11 days of Spring at this farm meets beach property. We woke to panoramic ocean views, and before breakfast would greet the cows and horses in the paddocks behind the cabins. The cabins are solar powered, with gas for cooking and heating water. The water is sourced from the ground and is noticeably gentle on hair/skin, and tastes fresh. Our hosts were wonderfully welcoming and very helpful before & during our stay, they would stop by to refuel the generator on cloudy days to ensure we always had power, check if we needed fresh linen, and available to help with any queries. The town center was approx 15 mins by car, so we would visit every couple of days to get enough food to store in the mini fridge and cupboard, for stove top cooking. We made use of the hot tub, and enjoyed looking out at a moody ocean while staying cosy in the tub. We highly recommend this property if you’re looking to getaway from the hustle and bustle, in a rural setting, with the beach to yourselves except for the local resident NZ fur seal.
