"Everything about the house and our stay was a dream! Located on a slope above the crashing surf, we feel so lucky to have found this paradise. The house had just what we needed, the caretakers were generous with their time & attention, and the host was responsive and communicative with recommendations & directions. "The house was overall just OK. There were ants in the bathroom and kitchen upon arrival. This was a constant nuisance during our stay, even after cleaning by the house manager. Spider webs on the ceilings and high up on the walls. Cockroach in the bathroom sink at night. Needs a deep cleaning for sure. Beds were very hard. Not a comfortable place to sit anywhere in the house. We would not return in the future. "

"Beautiful grounds, clean spacious room with comfortable bed. Breakfast fresh and delicious. Property sits on the top of the hill, so to get to the beach you need to be able to go up and down unless using local taxi. Would stay again."

"Good basic local hotel in a magical location - please know this is a good Mexican hotel, not Canadian or American, so adjust your expectations. Incredible view but you’ll have to work for it, up a series of switchbacks on a very steep and winding cobblestone road. Down is harder to navigate but the heat gets you on the way up if you try to head back for a siesta or a bit of pool time. No food or drink available, which means you’ll have to plan well, as this hill is between you and all food and drink! You can take a taxi up from or down to town for 50-70pesos. Nice refreshing pool that we had to ourselves. Wonderfully gracious and helpful staff. "

"This is a great place in a safe gated community. We loved the pool and the view from the pool, the view from the decks is amazing! Nice little kitchen. The walk down to the private beach is amazing…but wear runners to climb back up!!! It is a really steep climb.It was great that the host responded quickly to any questions. They also provided great recommendations for the area as well as a recommended taxi driver which is a huge value!!Small tweaks to the house would make it a next level stay. Beds are not very comfortable and bedding could be updated.Hot water had no heat and no pressure. While I enjoyed the refreshing shower, my partner did not . The games are only a deck of cards. "

"The view and the location are a 10 out of 5! You are stops from a gorgeous beach with great swimming and snorkeling. Watching the whales go by from the deck several times a day never got old. There are beach-club/restaurants and a mini-markets close by. It's a 20 minute walk into Puerto Angel (less than 5 minute drive), and the tourist towns with more restaurants and bars aren't too much further of a drive.The host was very communicative; they let us know how to contact the housekeepers, let us know when their schedule changed, and checked with us every other day or so to see if we needed anything.There are a few things to be aware of though... You are essentially living outside, even with netting around the bed mosquitos get in at night, and you need to spray yourself when on the patio after dark. There are A LOT of ants (we kept everything wiped down, food sealed in zip-lock bags, and sprayed every other day). The stairs are steep so be aware if you have mobility issues. Wi-Fi was very slow even by Mexico standards (no streaming possible); seems to be the provider as there is a router in the bedroom. Finally the "kitchen" is minimally equipped; we struggled to make the few meals we didn't have out.We loved staying here and definitely would do so again."
