About this property

Springtime in the Rockies!

  • We have expanded our vacation rental offering to include guests access to professionally designed hiking and mountain biking trails on our 350 acre mountain which is bordered by an additional 80 acres of BLM (public land)

Serene get-away, nestled in the southern Rocky Mountains, with spectacular views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains from the deck, living room, and loft. Relax in the 4-person hot tub enclosed under west side of deck, enjoy the mountain views and the stars at night, firepit for atmosphere and smores! (Availability dependent on County firebans). Large deck with patio furniture, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, TV viewing area, kitchen, dining room, and living room with mountain views. Hike the property and enjoy the nature and wildlife.

We consider ourselves stewards of the land and offer a choice to our guests to recycle, use 'paperless' paper towels and cloth napkins instead of single use paper products, and add to our compost. :-) Options while staying include purchasing foodstuffs from our neighbors such as organic free-range eggs, honey, and organic greenhouse vegetables. Grocery delivery, and home cooked meals are available for a fee from one of our neighbors. We want to assist our mountain community by providing opportunities for the community to serve you with (very) local choices and suppliers. If you are interested we will provide additional information, pricing and scheduling of these services.

We live nearby (about a mile) on another part of our 350-acre property and are available to assist or advise if you need anything.

We do not enter the lodge or use the hot tub or deck while we have guests so the rental is completely private. We do come over to feed out chickens in the enclosure close to the house once a day. We will share our eggs if you would like some!

We are conscientious about our stewardship of this magnificent property so may see us out tending garden, chickens, performing weed mitigation, and dead wood removal.

We respect the privacy of our guests, but are available if you have questions about the area or would like to chat.

If we are gone, we always leave you with our cell phone numbers so that you can contact us for anything that you need or have questions about.

Guests agree to abide by the house rules.

Prohibited: smoking indoors or on trails (local fire regulations), drones, trespassing and use of other properties on the ranch, motorcycles, atv, utv, fireworks and firearms.

We live in a remote, peaceful, quiet area where everyone values their privacy. Accordingly drones and trespassing are strictly prohibited. A $200 fine will be imposed for either.

We are part of a Property Owner's Association (POA). “Guests of the vacation rental hereby acknowledge the South T-Bar Ranch Property Owners’ Association has no liability for damages of any kind arising from guests’ use of the vacation rental and use of South T-Bar Ranch Property Owners’ Association’s roads within the subdivision. Guests of the
vacation rental may only travel on South Tallahassee Trail between its entrance gate and its intersection with Valley Vista Trail. Guests of the vacation rental have no right to access any other portion of the South T-Bar Ranch Property Owners’ Association or other roads within the subdivision.

    =====
We use sunlight (line dry laundry) in addition to other cleaning methods and products (alcohol, bleach solutions, detergent and hot water, Thieves essential oil cleaners, ....) doing our best to present our guests with a clean and healthy vacation rental stay.

"The (COVID-19) virus dies quickest in the presence of direct sunlight," said William Bryan, science and technology adviser to the Department of Homeland Security. This is one of the reasons we use a clothes line for linens - also to do our bit to walk gently on the planet. :-)

The CDC recommends employing ventilation as part of the cleaning process, accordingly we open all windows and doors to allow maximum fresh air and sunlight after a guest group have left the house.

After thorough cleaning, e.g. alcohol wipe down on all doorknobs, light switches, faucet handles, toilet seats and flushing handles, etc. we have implemented the following:

    - Soft/porous surfaces
    - rugs and floor mats: after cleaning are placed in the sun (weather dependent)
    - living room couch, loveseat, chair, ottoman, couch cushions and couch pillows:
    - spray with 70% alcohol-based spray

    - Hard surfaces are also sprayed with 70% alcohol-based spray after a thorough cleaning.

We welcome and appreciate your thoughts and suggestions on improving our cleaning and disinfecting practices.

    Thank you.
