The location is fantastic and probably the best thing about this rental. You’re right in the middle of Provincetown and can easily walk everywhere. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t recommend the unit itself. We knew we were renting a very old Provincetown property and expected some quirks, but the condition of the unit went well beyond that. The floors are extremely slanted, enough that we nearly lost our balance a few times. The bedroom dresser was basically unusable because the bottoms of the drawers were separating from the frames, so you couldn’t actually put clothes in them. The bathroom was the biggest issue for us. The doorway is incredibly narrow, probably around 20 inches, you have to walk sideways to get in, and there is no exhaust fan or operable window. The shower is a small raised alcove with what appears to be painted walls and flooring. Every time the toilet was flushed, the sink or shower drain would also gurgle very loudly. There is outdoor furniture, but there weren’t any cushions, so we didn’t end up using it.The location really is excellent, and we understand that old homes in Provincetown aren’t going to be level or have modern layouts. That wasn’t our expectation. The issue was that too many things felt poorly maintained or simply weren’t functional. For what we paid, we expected the property to be in considerably better condition. We had a great time in Provincetown, but we wouldn’t stay in this unit again.
