Perfect getaway.
We were thrilled to come across this property and the owners. It was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. So close to restaurants, hikes, and shopping, but nestled away to make it seem you are off the grid.

Relaxing Oasis!
We loved our stay at the Cave Castle in the Granite Dells! What an amazing location!! So relaxing and peaceful! The property backs up to wonderful hiking trails and amazing rock formations. There are lovely patios on EVERY side of this property allowing you to access sun, shade, wind, or no wind - whatever you want! We had fun playing board games with our 17 year old son, I love that there is no TV!! So relaxing! The sleeping accommodations are up stairs and open with no walls but there are privacy curtains... which was fine, just be ready for that. Happy and Free are so friendly but also give you your space. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely stay here if it's available!

Nice property but pool and hot tub were not clean and available for guests. Smoke alarm went off in the middle of the night and property owner did not respond for an entire day and by that point we were checking out.

Great spot to visit Prescott
Nice place to stay while visiting the area. We were there off season so the outdoor/lifestyle amentities were not available. The home was comfortable. Both sleeping areas are in an open loft on the second floor. The immediate area, Granite Dells, is beautiful and truly unique and worth a visit on it's own natural merits. The way the house is built into the granite face is worth a visit on it's own as well.

Cave Castle
Beautiful and peaceful setting. With easy access to trails and a gorgeous natural setting, the Cave Castle is the perfect place to relax and recharge. Loved the quiet and dark nights for viewing the stars. Everything was comfortable and calm.

Comfortable
We booked our stay late February, knowing that the temperatures may be a bit cooler, but we arrived in the middle of the snowstorm of the century! No fault of the owners, but it made for an interesting experience! The 16-18" of snow made for a magical visual throughout the area. The roads were cleared - mostly - but we were thankful we rented a 4-wheel drive vehicle. The owners reached out to us prior to arrival that day to discuss alternatives due to concern of the road conditions. After some discussion, we decided to make the trek from the Phoenix airport to the house. Our GPS had us routed the back way in. Luckily, we paused before crossing a flooded creek and called Happy for guidance. She talked us through a re-route and we arrived safely to the house. The house is very clean, spacious, and airy. The exposed granite walls are very cool - a nice touch. We were comfortable throughout our stay. The snow made for some unique challenges for the owners - they shoveled a small path from the parking spot to the house, but never cleared space around the car so we had to walk in deep snow every time we got in & out of the car, and the drive was never shoveled. We prefer to find extra towels available for use - not just two, requiring laundering each day for fresh towels. Also, we have stayed at many rentals and understand the need to place notices for renters on how the owners want things done, but there seemed to be a few extras notices posted that increased our stress level for fear of violating a rule - no shoes, short showers, etc.. But even with that, we enjoyed our stay. We had a chance to visit briefly with Happy and she is a very pleasant person to share stories. We bought one of her books on Blissful Communications (some of the posted notices may find a benefit of resting with some Blissful Communications). Although the snow was beautiful to look at, and being form Wisconsin not an issue for us to drive in, we wish we had an opportunity to experience the grounds fully without the snow, and would consider coming back another time of the year to do just that. The neighbor is gorgeous. We found th elocation great for visits to the Grand Canyon, Sedona (in the snow) and to Phoenix.

Thank you Don for your wonderful review! You two were our first VRBO guests. We have come a long way since then. Reminder to all travelers: to ensure you have a most comfortable stay, it's really essential to ask your hosts for more towels or coffee or whatever you'd like more of. It is easy to call, text or walk next door anytime (unless there is a blizzard!) Yes, we now provide at least 4 towels instead of two. The snow storm was beautiful. We never had to shovel the driveway before your visit. We were not equipped with a snow shovel at that time, so shoveling was a little awkward. Normally, when it snows, it melts by 9 am. That was the blizzard of the decade and the snow stuck far longer than we anticipated. Now we have a snow shovel, though have used it only once, ironically. Meanwhile, Don, we'd love to host you again soon!
