We had an amazing view from our balcony. Staff were amazing and helped us organise a boat trip which was magical. Great location near a bus stop with amazing views over to Positano. Bed was hard, but otherwise room was great. We loved the area and it was better value for money than Positano.

If you're staying in Praiano you should definitely stay at Hotel Smerlado! The rooms are stunning with amazing views of Positano, the ocean, and even Capri! You get the full days sun with beautiful sunset views from your balcony. The upstairs (street level) offers dining with an included breakfast which is everything you need to start your day. If you choose to eat dinner there (which I recommend) you'll be served amazing food by a wonderful staff. The location is great because you're closer to Positano if you're travelling that way but also for day trips the SITA bus stop is less than a 5 minute walk away which you can jump on to Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. The hotel manager Giorgio is extremely accommodating and knowledgeable of the area and will help arrange a taxi service if need be. Lastly, if you want to jump in the ocean you have a wonderful walk down to the water from the gates of Smeraldos private garden/ communal terrace. It's very accessible with a little bar along the way "Cafe Mirante", and a nice restaurant by the water called "La Gavitella". I look forward to staying here again!

Our room was quite basic, but it was clean and bright and everything - lights, lamps, AC, faucets, toilet, bidet, shower, wi-fi - worked! The balcony was spacious and had a fabulous view of the sea, Positano (the best view of Positano is from Hotel Smeraldo!), Li Galli, the Sorrento Peninsula, and the edge of Capri. Pasquale, Raffaele, Giorgio, and all the staff were helpful and friendly. The location is great for walking to restaurants, up to the convent and the Path of the Gods, or down to the beach.

Wonderful hotel in the middle of the Amalfi Coast without the crowds. The owner and staff are always on site and very attentive to their guests. The hotel is very clean and comfortable with a daily meals served on the veranda overlooking the beautiful coastline and hills surrounding the area. Be aware that parking is very limited and there is no exercise facility. I want to also recognize GEORGIO our primary host who was super friendly and attended to our every need. My wife became ill during our stay, GEORGIO found us a local doctor who came to the hotel! Quality abounds at this hotel.

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotsl Smeraldo. From the moment we walked in we felt taken care of. To bringing in our luggage, parking our car, and automatically providing a reservation at the best table in the restaurant, the staff were amazing. The views from the restaurant and rooms cannot be beat! Located on the main road made accessing the hotel so easy, and it was a short stroll to the shops and additional restaurants and cafes. We are already planning a return trip!

We loved our stay at the Hotel Smeraldo. Everyone here was incredibly kind and helpful, providing recommendations for places to eat and activities and how to get around. The property itself is beautiful, and the rooms overlooking the water have gorgeous balconies--the best view we had in 10 days in the Amalfi coast. Would absolutely come back.

We had a relaxing stay at Hotel Smeraldo in Praiano. There were good food options at a short walking distance. We drove to the hotel and the staff parked the car for us and retrieved it as well during check out. The hotel was at a convenient place for our boat tour at the La Gavitella restaurant which was a short walk away from the hotel. The room it self was very adequate and couldn't ask for more.

Rafaelo and Giorgio were so kind and helpful! The staff was very attentive. The view from this hotel was by far the best view we had the entire trip!! The room was very spacious and clean. We would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay away from the crowd but still close enough to spend the day in positano or almalfi.

This place was quiet and serenely beautiful with the best views of the Amalfi coast. staff was very nice and respectful. Raffael was very patient both before and after our arrival with so many questions. They setup transporation and tours for us that worked with our schedules and the room was amazing. His entire family was very gracious and Georgio was so great preparing my breakfast exactly the way I liked. Already miss all of of it.

Spectacular!

Not much to complain about! Amazing view form our room balcony that Included an Electric retractable awning over the balcony overlooking the ocean and Amalfi. Simply beautiful. The food was great, the free breakfast was awesome and the service was awesome. Great. Having breakfast or dinner out on the balcony of the restaurant was amazing.

Vintage type hotel in the quiet town of priano , amazing views, helpful staff,15- 20 min cab right to Positano ($50 euro) , great free breakfast, amazing balcony with our room , amazing restaurant and breakfast balcony view , family owned vibe, dinner was good, other restaurants close by. Hot water , ac, very Italian feeling, this is a great place for laid back feel, traditional old school antique feel , plants and cool ceramics everywhere, definitely would stay again , on the path to “one fire” swimming area . ( Google image it)25 min walk down this cool path with steps next to back yards and property entrances to get to swimming area and bar. A great place to escape the crowds of Positano . Good value for price

I have never left a negative review for any business in my life. This is my first. The attitude of the manager here is atrocious and low quality. First off the hotel location is well situated and the view of positano from here is beautiful. The hotel has a lot of potential to be a great hotel. But it starts at the front desk. First off, the manager asked where we were going for dinner which we said La Strada which is the restaurant ten feet across the street. He said the hotels food was much better then La Strada and La Strada has no view. (La Strada has a beautiful view as well on the top terrace just not down below on the bottom). The food and service at La Strada was amazing! When someone slashes their neighbors business, that is very low quality. That was the first negative interaction. The second negative interaction was requesting beach towels. The manager made it a big deal like we were requesting something very big. Never once did he mention that the beach towels cost money to rent. We then requested a second set on the second day because we forgot to dry the first set during the night. Again on the second time, he never mentioned they cost money to rent. Upon checkout of course they say we owe money for renting the beach towels. I said no one told me this and that I didn't want to pay it because I was not informed. The manager spoke in a very rude, forceful and not professional way and forced us to pay. Very disappointing.
