The Shoreline Inn & Suites - Oceanview - across from ocean, beach, & Battle Rock

8/10 Good
"If what you are is looking for is a bed and a shower with some ability to store and heat your food, this is the place for you. It is basically an aging motel that appears to be lacking a budget ( or creative captain at the helm) for basic upgrades, but that said, the bed was comfortable, the manager responsive, the location along the Oregon coast very convenient. We got what we paid for which is no frills, no extra towels, no closet or dresser to store our clothes. It is pet friendly, haa easy parking and good TV set in room. Right next to the highway, but noise calms down in the evening. Good galleries, bookstores, and restaurants in town. Love Port Orford!"

Elk River Retreat on the river! Great for fishing or relaxing!

10/10 Excellent
"This property was absolutely phenomenal! The house has a wonderful 1990s vibe, complete with VHS tapes, and it reminded me of the home I grew up in. The location is fantastic, with a swimming hole on the river just three minutes up the road and the beach only about 15 minutes away. There’s plenty of room for the whole family without ever feeling crowded. The back deck has seating for family dinners overlooking the river, and it was so peaceful to make coffee and enjoy the morning there. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook for a large family, including a skillet and large cooking pots. Every time we needed something, we found it in the house. It truly felt like a home on the river.I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful little getaway!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Powers?
The best area to stay in Powers is within the town centre, particularly along the main thoroughfare of Powers Creek Road. This central area offers the most convenient access to local amenities and is where the majority of businesses are located. You'll find the general store, a few local eateries, and the post office clustered here, making it easy to pick up essentials or grab a meal. The general layout is linear, following the creek, with most establishments easily reachable on foot. For couples looking for a tranquil escape, staying in the immediate vicinity of Powers provides a wonderful base for exploring the natural beauty of the surrounding area. You're perfectly positioned for scenic drives along the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway or for enjoying quiet walks along Powers Creek. The focus here is on relaxation and appreciating the outdoors, with easy access to the town's handful of conveniences.Families will also find the town centre practical due to its proximity to the community park and local services. Children can enjoy the open spaces, and the ease of getting to the general store for snacks or forgotten items makes planning day trips into the nearby forests much simpler.
When is the best time to go to Powers?
The best time to go to Powers is during the summer months, from June to September, when the weather is warm and dry, making it ideal for outdoor activities.During this period, you'll experience comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 28°C, with plenty of sunshine. This is superb for exploring the surrounding Coquille River Valley, fishing in the river, or hiking in the nearby Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. The long daylight hours also allow for extended enjoyment of the natural beauty. For those looking to enjoy fishing, especially for salmon and steelhead, September and October can also be excellent, as these months often see strong runs of these fish in the Coquille River. While the weather might be a bit cooler and wetter than in high summer, the fishing opportunities are often at their peak.If you enjoy cooler temperatures and don't mind a bit of rain, the spring months of April and May offer lush green landscapes and fewer crowds, though some outdoor activities might be weather-dependent.
