The Cottage is located in historic East Poultney next to the old Poultney schoolhouse (now historical society). Slate Valley hiking/bike trails surround the area. About 1 mile to the town of Poultney, which has stores, shops, restaurants and a Pub. The sidewalk starts in front of the cottage which leads directly to town. Great for a walk, jog or bike ride. 3. Bomoseen Golf Club is 11 miles away (Bomoseen, VT)
The Cottage is in the heart of the Historic District, which encompasses the historic center of the rural village of East Poultney, Vermont. The district is centered on the triangular green at the center of the village (across the street from the front yard) and was developed mainly from the late 18th through mid-19th centuries, producing a village with strong Federal and Greek Revival architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978. The Cottage is right next door to the old Poultney Schoolhouse which is now the Poultney Historical Society building. Tours of select buildings are given by appointment only through the Poultney Historical Society.
This is the perfect area to ride a bicycle. The sidewalk starts right out by the front lawn, and continues down all the way to Poultney. There are plenty of local bike and hiking trails. For more trail information please visit https://slatevalleytrails.org/bike Pets are allowed for an additional fee and the guest must ensure that they pick up after the animal inside and outside. The cottage had everything we needed to make our vacation perfect. It was well located to Ski Killington and Stratton. The host live right next door and was very responsive for all our needs to make the stay as pleasant as possible. We would definitely rent again.
My in-laws were in town for a week and this was the perfect place for them. Easily accessible entrance and bathroom. The house is clean and very comfortable. They had a great time. Thank you!
This property was less than a few miles from our friend. The home was comfortable, had everything that you need for a trip and worked out perfectly. Really nicely decorated/renovated.
We enjoyed our extended stay at the cottage! Nate was a great host and available, if needed. My 5 yr old still talks about her favorite stone in the shower Would highly recommend this location
A very cute, small ranch home located across from the East Poultney Village Green! Spent 5 nights in October 2025. The Host, Nate, was great to deal with, was easy to communicate with, and the check-in process was seamless! Very clean, well-stocked, large bathroom with a large walk-in tiled shower! A great location for us to visit family and friends. Very, very quiet at night, which was wonderful! A very cozy place to stay! Thanks, Nate!
The location was perfect for us, close to family. The cottage is beautifully renovated and was very ready for us to move in for an extended stay. We hated leaving that shower! There's plenty to do within a short distance ... so many little businesses and beautiful places to explore! Very quiet, we slept very well in our comfortable bed! I took many morning strolls, such a pretty little area!
This is a sweet and comfortable vintage little home.
We especially appreciated the well stocked kitchen, and the washer, dryer and iron was a huge plus as well.
The location is excellent, and the neighborhood has a few intriguing looking museums.
Nate is a kind and understanding host, and was very tolerant of our surprise guests who showed up for the graduation.
Thank you Nate!
