After getting over the motel feel from the outside, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the rooms, the view, the view of the inlet and boats in the marina. It’s a great location I would recommend.

Really neat swanky inn with lots of relaxing charm. Upscale products and decor. Great alternative to a classic hotel and more quiet than a traditional inn. Limited food options on site. Would definitely recommend!

Small-ish but perfect rooms. All amenities one would expect. So nice to sit out on the terrace. Gardeners arrived outside mid-morning though — thankfully we had the sheers closed as we were organising ourselves inside!

Relaxing Harbor Life

Gorgeous hotel on the river. Very quiet, relaxing and convenient for all that Kennebunkport has to offer. This is not a full service hotel, so one must recognize this when booking here. However, breakfast and happy hour is as described and the town has plenty of excellent food options.

I really enjoyed the ease of check in and that all the rooms are on the ground level with parking right outside your door. The room are tastefully decorated and recently remodeled. The beach is a short walk and there are several restaurants nearby. Dock Square is also a short walk with shops, coffee shops, and restaurants that are all excellent. Watching the boats coming in and going out is very peaceful. It was a very relaxing experience.

This place is deceiving from the outside. When you pull in it appears to be like any other roadside motel. Oh no, how could they charge these rates for a motel! But once you step inside the room and spend some time in it you quickly come to see and understand. The interior designer deserves a big shout out. Absolute beauty and simplicity. Every piece of furniture and decorations from outside to in is of the highest quality and carefully selected to provide a first class experience. As a DIY person I can tell you they skimped on nothing when they renovated this place. So peaceful, and relaxing. Short walk to town. I can’t find anything to pick on. My wife and I are sure return.

Kennebunkport is lovely and the people are friendly. It’s a short walk to Dock Square where there are many restaurants and shops to check out. The hotel itself - I wish they would sweep off the walkways, it would help keep the dirt and leaves outside. There are some routine maintenance issues like the air conditioning unit pulling away from the wall so it was always muggy in our room. The sink needs caulking in the bathroom and inconsistent water pressure in the shower plus the temperature of the water fluctuates getting cold quickly then all of a sudden it’s hot again. The area is great though!

I didn’t realize the Yachtsman was a former motel. The rooms are currently very nice and the location is convenient. In the summer I think it would be more pleasant. Off season I would prefer to stay in an enclosed hotel, I should have researched my choice more thoroughly. Also there was no staff and checkin was self guided and a little confusing.

Wasn't what we expected and wouldn't have chosen it on paper. Was very pleasantly surprised. Simple, very well kept. Right on waters edge with view of Marina and access to walk about and look at boats. Very quaint private patios with Adirondack chairs and leg rests set out on the lawn with a covered patio with 2 chairs and a table in case of rain. Very clean, very well kept, brite, super convenient walk to shopping and dining. Reasonably priced. Would stay again.

This hotel is adorable and is so close to town! The free bike rentals are great too. The aesthetic of the room is one of my favorites and all overlook the Kennebunk River. The ducks walking around are super cute as well and the continental breakfast is perfect!
