About this property
Sun filled Hawthorne-Belmont Casa De Campo
This Hawthorne-Belmont tiny house is bigger than its footprint and close to everything you need to live in Portland. Stumptown coffee. The restaurants on Division and the bars on Belmont. Biketown bike share. Mt. Tabor and Laurelhurst Park. New Season's Grocery store and a new H-mart Asian Market. Powell's books and backyard chickens. This two-story tiny house has a full kitchen with a gas range, a washer-dryer combo, a truly comfortable bed, radiant heat for socked feet, 13 windows, 3 skylights and two red dutch doors.
Whether you're in town for business or to explore the city, this tiny house in one of Portland's finest locations with a straight shot to downtown and mere blocks from everything you could need or want is tucked away in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood where rest comes easy.
The house has a wrap around porch and a small patio ideal for morning coffee or an afternoon beer. For those rainy nights the metal porch roof will put you to sleep like a baby.
We have recently moved out of the main house and headed off on an adventure to Casablanca, Morocco. The family living in the main house has no connection to the tiny house, but they are super friendly so feel free to say hello in passing. They also have a friendly dog who you might see during your stay. The tiny house is being managed while were away by Wes's sister Gretchen. She is more than happy to answer questions, offer suggestions and help in any way to make sure your stay is perfect, but with a private key pad entry the tiny house is set up to offer guests as much privacy as they wish.

An amazing, relaxing place to stay. Close to many shops and restaurants. Though in Portland proper, it was a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood. When in Portland, visiting family, will definitely book a stay again.
As young at heart septuagenarians we very much enjoyed our stay. The high quality of construction reminds us of upscale rentals in Latin America and Europe. In the four days we were there we could walk everywhere. This is the Portland that we have known and loved to visit for forty years.
I loved this little place so much. The location was great- it felt quiet and safe, parking was easy enough, and was still within walking distance of restaurants and shops. The space felt just right for two people, plus the loft was an absolute treat- I would have spent the whole weekend up there if I had my way. The owner was very kind and communicative too. Would definitely stay here again!
Lovely little home in Portland! Communicative and accommodating host. Quiet neighborhood. The hammocks in the backyard were a plus. Would definitely stay again when in Portland!
Close to everywhere we like to go in the SE. We also appreciated the cleanliness and lack of clutter. So many places are junk/kitsch filled and this small home was not. Will return!
Looking to move to the neighborhood. The tiny house was the perfect spot to check it all out. Very cute, comfy, full kitchen, cool loft, nice outdoor seating area, even a washer/dryer! Plenty of entertainment within walking distance. Recommended. Would stay again.
The location was perfect for all the tours we had planned. Perfect neighborhood for walking and biking. Plenty of food, drink, and shopping around - all within 3/4 of a mile!
It was fun having Apollo the cat greet us in the front yard for our comings and goings and paying the belly rub toll.
My wife loved the hammock chair and i loved reading in the loft. This quickly felt like a second home for us. 10/10 highly recommended- we’ll be coming back again for sure!.
Great place but bring a fan if you are not used to not having central ac
It was the perfect fit for a few days but We had hoped to be able to use the kitchen but it was just too hot on the bottom level for us to sit and eat, cook, relax, or really do anything at all in that space so it was pretty cramped feeling to only use the upstairs. The property was great overall and very safe feeling. Would stay again but only in the fall or winter.
The place was lovely, clean, and private despite being right in someone’s backyard. Walkable to great restaurants and stores and a short/drive ride from everything else. Only complaint is that it is easy to flood the bathroom even when following hosts instruction. Shower drain is installed into bathroom floor and drains very slowly, but it was a minor inconvenience compared to the convenience, cleanliness, and safety of the location.
We had a lovely stay at this property. The house is really adorable and beautifully designed, nestled in the backyard of a quiet property just a few blocks from Hawthorne. The location was perfect! They really did a lot with a small space, and there are a lot of nice touches, including dimmable lights everywhere, a detachable shower head, and a lovely outdoor space. The only reason we hesitate to give it 5 stars is that, admittedly, tiny house living is not for everyone. The bathroom was very small, and it was hard not to get water everywhere despite our best efforts. The bed was squishy to the point of uncomfortable too—and there really wasn't anywhere else comfortable to be. (A small couch or loveseat somewhere would have been awesome.) We also couldn't get the TV or dryer to work.Still, the good definitely outweighed the bad, and if you just need a spot to rest your head on your Portland adventure, this is a good one!
Interesting ineterior. Neighborhood homes are colorful.
The downside. Very small bed for two. Stairs are not the easiest to navigate.
The upside: impressive interior: lights on the stairway are creative, contemporary. Great all in one washer / dryer. Reading material: major award-winning literary fiction by North American, Irish and British writers. This tells lots about the intelligence that went into the place.
Tip: Don’t stay here if your reading pleasure has Hitler, spies, and poisoned fast food in the title. Free up the space for someone who loves a colorful neighborhood and good, simple restaurants nearby.
Super cute place, with charm and felt like you belonged in the neighborhood. The terrace/loft area at the top is so cute and fun. Bed and bedding was very comfortable. The floors are heated, and the mini split works great. A few things I felt it was missing to make things better for guests. 1. No microwave (might have been on the description but I missed it) 2. No couch or comfy lounge seating. It’s a small space but it could definitely be styled different for space optimization for a few cozy spaces. The loft just had a low profile scratchy rug to lay on and some small pillows. Seems like a missed opportunity for more comfort. Even a fold out padded chair, like those low profile tri-fold down ones would have been so much better. 3. No hooks for coats. Seems maybe silly but also it’s Portland and it rains a lot. Walked in and there’s no where to hang your wet coat. If they added just a few wall mounted hooks that would work. Overall though, really fun experience and had a wonderful time. There’s lots of walkable places to eat and shop. I would recommend still.
A lovely home conveniently located between Hawthorne and Belmont. Walk to coffee, shops, and restaurants. Exactly what we needed for our vacation in Portland. Thank you so much!
