When booking our trip we categorized our search for "whole home," as we did not want to have any share walls or properties. We were traveling with friends and an infant, so we wanted privacy and quiet for ourselves, as well as not wanting to disturb any potential neighbors or shared tenants.
Once the place was booked, we were notified that there were unit numbers associated with the rental. I asked the property owner about this, and was assured that this was a whole home. However, when we arrived we quickly realized that it was a shared home, split by a, albeit closed, wall. Fortunately, no one was staying in the other unit so we still enjoyed privacy. However, someone did show up, unannounced, to blow leaves off the roof. Which felt like a violation of privacy in our eyes.
Initially, the owner was efficient and informative with his communication. However, at night the temperature in the house became quite cold. We had our infant sleeping in our room and the room got to 65 degrees, far too cold. We contacted the owner about whether there was a thermostat in the unit -- No response. We contacted the owner again (after reading a review stating the thermostat was controlled by the owner's phone), asking if it was possible to up the temperature a couple of degrees for our child. Reiterating that we were not wanting to blast the heat by any means, but it was winter and quite cold - Again, completed ghosted for the remainder of our stay.
Enjoyed the house itself, and area.
