"Unfortunately I was unable to enjoy a stay at the Casa Grande. There is no road to the place, i.e. they have to pick you up by boat. I sent an e-mail, left two WhatsApp messages and tried calling 4 times, all to no avail. Even 2 days later I have not heard from them. I ended up in Parismina without any recourse to get to the place, and so I had to find a different accommodation there. Very unfortunate. If you can book this place in the morning for the evening, the resort must respond, otherwise...

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Portete?
For the best weather and most enjoyable experience, the ideal time to visit Portete is during the dry season, which runs from December to April.

During these months, you'll find plenty of sunshine and minimal rainfall, making it great for relaxing on the beach, exploring the local area, and enjoying outdoor activities. The sea is typically calm and clear, which is excellent for swimming and snorkelling.

Families often find this period particularly appealing as the consistent good weather allows for uninterrupted enjoyment of the beaches and natural surroundings without the worry of rain disrupting plans. It's also a great time for wildlife spotting, as many animals are more active.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape will appreciate the pleasant climate, allowing for romantic strolls along the shore and quiet evenings under the stars.
