- The Matriz Guest House is the first floor of a century-old house recently restored to a high standard. It is located in the center of the medieval village of Portel, Central Alentejo, Portugal, 12 km from the nearests river beaches and 15 km from Marina Amieira, both located in the municipality of Portel and next to Lake Alqueva.
Closest cities are Évora, 40 km north, a World Heritage Site (UNESCO), and Beja, 40 km south, with good access by car or bus via the IP2 road.
