Perfect weekend for us

Fantastic and convenient location

Exactly what we needed and more
This property exceeded expectations. I have never stayed somewhere that felt more like a home away from home. The kitchen was so well stocked, the bedrooms and living areas so comfortable. The serenity on the property was just what we needed. It was so lovely to sit outside on the deck in the morning, with a coffee, hearing nothing other than the sound of the river and some birds. Only a short 10 min drive in to Bright, 25mins to the top of Mount buffalo. Couldn’t rate this property higher, absolutely loved it and will be back! Thank you so much for having us

Peaceful and relaxing
Loved everything about this property from the amazing “shed” to the stunning views and lots of wildlife. Easy check in and good communication with host. property was very clean and had all the extras you might need. Definitely hope to come back and hopefully the weather will be better.

Beautiful and relaxing spot
We enjoyed our time staying here. The house itself is stunning with high ceilings and beautiful kitchen and dining area to share a meal with those you’re staying with. The location is great - quiet but still a short drive to everything you need. Definitely recommend!

Spectacular property
Such a stunning place in the most stunning location. Right at the foot of Mt Buffalo. Everything was absolutely perfect, you feel like you're miles away from anyone, yet you are so close to Bright centre. Very highly recommended. The property is beautiful, very clean and very well maintained. Melissa and Rupert were amazing hosts.

Wonderful property! Great sound proof windows throughout the house which was a bonus with a 7 year old. Bath was sensational and property was spotless. Wonderful fireplace inside and outside Wildlife was a real treat Highly recommend!!!

Lovely house and setting. So close to mount buffalo national park. Lovely creek nearby filled with fish and we saw a platypus there at night.

Spartan Race Weekend Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nine Steps during our Spartan race weekend. After running 21km a soak in the deep freestanding bath was exactly what I needed. We loved the allocation of space, the modern architecture, and the homely feel. The house was presented beautifully and there was very helpful detailed information provided by the host, including how to find the property. The house was perfect in every way and would recommend it highly.

Relaxing Stay
We stayed at Nine Steps for three nights in June, and had an amazing, relaxing stay. The house is beautifully designed and maintained in a peaceful location so close to Mount Buffalo with great views. The fireplace works wonderfully and the house was so cosy and warm. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Stylish and Relaxing Country Retreat
We stayed two nights in March '20 and wish we had booked longer. The property is beautiful exactly as shown on the listing. Very clean and excellent amenities. The location is quiet and peaceful but only a short distance to the facilities of Porepunkah and Bright. Melissa the host was most helpful with directions and recommended nearby restaurants which were excellent. Highly recommended for a country getaway.

Perfect peace
A beautiful well lit retreat ... only the sound of birds and the river. A huge tub with a view was bliss. Plenty of room to spread out and relax. Wonderfully clean.

Beautiful property in a tranquil location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was perfect for adults and the little ones. The house was cosy yet spacious and very well maintained. Some very minor suggestions: - a couple more tea towels - bath mats - sharper knives - more chopping boards Thanks again for having us and thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Amazing, Highly Recommend - just book it already!!!
An amazing property. The design and construction of the house is incredibly well thought out and planned making it very comfortable to stay in. It was almost 30 degrees during the day when we were there but we never needed to run the airconditioning. The location is fantastic, an easy commute (bike or car), or run (no I didn't do it but others have) into Porpunkah and not much further to Bright. The lack of internet and mobile reception (you can get it if you really need to by standing in just the right spot) was actually a real blessing. Will definitely be back!

Great Getaway!
Nine steps was a great place to spend a few days with the family. It was quiet and serene. The property is very well maintained, the beds comfortable and the showers hot. Just a few more additional extras would have been nice. For example, we couldn't find any drink coasters and were nervous about staining the coffee table with wine splashes, we went out and purchased paper towels for general clean-ups etc. There are minor points. Overall a fantastic place to chill out, breath in the scenery and relax. Highly recommended.

Fantastic house - fully equipped - great large living zone
We had a great time - fireplace warmed the living room for a great family getaway. Bathrooms very luxurious, kitchen fully equipped, sofa’s super comfy - wish we’d stayed longer.

Simply superb accomodation. We were there in the middle of winter and the house is as warm as toast.
The place is superb and a must stay for anyone with a few days up their sleeves. Magnificent location right at the foot of Mt Buffalo and close to Mt Hotham and other ski fields. First class.

Modern chic with comfort and a hint of luxury.
The property is well equipped and spacious - we cooked up a storm! The fire was lovely and collecting kindling and roasting marshmallows was enjoyed by all. The location is fantastic for walking on mountain buffalo and shopping in Bright and Beechworth. The olive farm near by is definitely worth a visit to stock up on specialty oils.

Gorgeous country retreat
The house is beautiful and the setting stunning. Everything was very clean and tidy on arrival. Comfy beds and beautiful modern fit out. The fire was the highlight for us. We arrived late at night in the cold and lit the fire. By morning the house was toasty warm and stayed that way all weekend.

Home away from home
Nine Steps is a well appointed property, making for an easy, enjoyable stay as we breathed in the fresh mountain air and feasted on the beautiful landscapes of the surrounding areas. We especially loved how easy it was to disconnect from the noise of technology! A wonderful opportunity to unwind.

A unique home in a great location
We had a great 3 night stay at Nine Steps. The house itself is terrific - overall very comfortable, well insulated from heat or cold and immaculately clean. It's set in a magnificent location with great views of the surrounding bush. Easily accessible to Mount Buffalo where there are heaps of varied, interesting walks and to the gorgeous town of Bright. Our only complaint was that we all found the beds to be extremely hard! I tried adding blankets to soften the bedding but eventually slept on the couch! Other than that we would highly recommend Nine Steps.
