"Although I appreciated returning to the space after a long workday, the location isn't ideal if you don't have transportation. I often had to use delivery services for food, which was also challenging because they, too, had trouble locating the hotel using Google Maps. If you don't have your own vehicle but want to get around the city, find a more central place to stay."

Il Palazzo

Il Palazzo

10/10 Excellent
"After a grueling walk up from the central bus stop we arrived at the hotel (take a taxi from the train station, you’ll thank me!) Getting around the hotel was a bit like Theseus going through the labyrinth but luckily no Minotaur at the end, instead a quiet and comfortable room. The breakfast was quite good with plentiful choices. Location was excellent, an easy walk to visit both St. Francis and St. Claire. We’ll be back!"

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Ponte D'Oddi?
The best time to visit Ponte D'Oddi is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer the most pleasant weather, with warm, sunny days great for exploring the Umbrian countryside without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find the landscape lush in spring with wildflowers, and the autumn brings beautiful colours and harvest festivals, including truffle hunting season.

Spring is particularly good for couples looking for a romantic getaway. The mild temperatures are ideal for leisurely walks through vineyards and olive groves, and you can enjoy al fresco dining in the evenings. Many local markets and small village festivals begin to appear, offering a glimpse into authentic Umbrian life.

Autumn appeals to those interested in culinary experiences and local traditions. The grape harvest (vendemmia) and olive picking seasons are in full swing, and many local agriturismos offer tours and tastings.
