Staff were very kind & ingratiating. Common area were beautiful; a feeling of colonial Asia. Breakfast delicious; would like to have had more variety of hot food (maybe change it up daily.) Room was clean & spacious. Garden & pool beautiful. I would definitely recommend this place bit small enough to be intimate and service is personal.

Cet hôtel est un petit bijou! Un endroit serein, paisible le avec un personnel attentionné. Les installations sont superbe surtout le bain chaud dans la serre d’ananas. Je recommence fortement le drain lymphatique, un moment de pur détente et de bien-être. L’emplacement est idéal, très proche de la ville et en même temps très reposant au milieu de ce beau jardin!!.

Hotel Gaivota is located in an outstanding location in Ponta Delgada for convenience to shopping, restaurants, the harbor, and the historic city center. It is also adjacent to a small grocery store that had premade dishes and space to eat outdoors. It was quicker and more affordable than some of the restaurants and food Can be purchase to prepare in the apartments. There is also a pharmacy very nearby and they were helpful in getting some medication for a cold. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful! They small apartments were spacious and had a wonderful balcony! I thought the breakfast times were excellent-until 10:30 am! The selections were varied each day and they included an à la carte menu. Parking is available for 10 Euros/day underground near the hotel. I would definitely return to Hotel Gaivota on a future trip to Ponta Delgada!
