I had originally planned to stay 2 nights however with the trains not running as normal at the time of my visit i stayed just the one, in the evening it was just lovely and peaceful, The staff was great and immediately organised me to visit the Sacred City Further they organised me a taxi to visit dambulla and drop me off at my next hotel at sigiriya

A Vision
Upon arriving by a long car ride from Kandy, the sight of the hotel overlooking the lake felt like paradise. A welcome cool drink was offered me as my check in went smoothly. The room is large with a balcony overlooking the lake. Keep doors of the balcony shut at all times and you will not have any problem with mosquitoes. The good and room service was fantastic along with the Sri Lanka coffee. I had the snapped two nights and it was grand. The hotel helped me with a tuk-tuk driver the ruins and again when I drove over to my next destination. A small wonderful is also on the property. This would make an excellent romantic escape as well.

Very pleasant location next to the lake on one side and the ruins on the other, meaning you can walk over. The room was clean and comfortable, but could have done with mosquito repellents or nets since these are pretty abundant near the lake. The breakfast was very nice, however, the menu service made this quite slow (something to consider if you're getting up early to see the ruins before the heat), and a few options were out of stock.

The view on the lake was beautiful. A place to be simply to relax since there is nothing really there. Room was very clean and spacious. Restaurant prices are too high.

Truly beautiful location. Swimming in the pool whilst watching the elephants move about on the other side of the Lake. The staff were very attentive. The food was very good. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed.

lakeside stay in the archaeological center
Very enjoyable stay at this old renovated rest house. The hotel is on a beautiful lakeside peninsula with great views . We stayed 2 nights and found it very relaxing. The deluxe room was very comfortable, clean and nicely appointed. The staff were excellent and we felt well looked after. We were able to arrange safari and long distance taxi through the hotel. On the slightly need to improve side we felt the background pan pipes music to be annoying and the rented bikes could do with some maintenance (gears don’t work). Not sure why they charge rental for the bikes as the hotel isn’t inexpensive. Overall this is a great place to stay. Food was very good and the small pool is very nice to cool down in

Best hotel in Polonnaruwa
Beautiful small hotel situated on the edge of the tank (the large reservoir made by an ancient king). Perfect for sunsets and strolls. Close to ruins. Great staff, amazing food.

Blissful Stay
We started our honeymoon from Ekho Lake House Polonnaruwa . The view from the property is serene. The staff our courteous and helpful to say the least. They make sure your stay is nothing short of perfect. The property has heritage value and very well kept next to the archeological site. Special thanks to Udesh and Ahmed for making us stay memorable. Will definitely visit again.

Beautiful and scenic hotel by the lake. Fine with kids but better suited to couples without kids. The rooms are spacious and elegant but a bit old fashioned (wall to wall carpets seem a bit passé).

Nice attentive staff from the manager to the waiters. Reception included welcome drink. Good food, and a nice selection of wines (western prices). Great view over the lake and very close to the ruins. Manager helped to arrange transport to Sigiriya, where we also stayed at a Ekho hotel.

By far the best hotel I have ever stayed. Room is spotlessly clean and gorgeous, best location to start exploring the magnificent ruins of Polonnaruwa (rental bicycle station is 3 mins walk, tuktuk pick up spot / bus stop are also 3 mins walk). Breakfast was amazing too. The quality of bread cannot be compared with other hotels in Sri Lanka... Hotel chef seems to bake it inside the hotel. On a check out day, I decided to go around the ruins by bicycle - after several hours of work out under scorching sun, I was covered with dust and sweat. When I came back to the hotel to pick up the backpacks that they kindly kept at the front desk during the day, the hotel chairman kindly offered me to take a brief shower at unused room. I understand I was just lucky that they had a vacant room at that point, but his kind offer really saved my day! He also arranged a direct taxi to the airport, which was nearly half the street price. I am so glad that I choose to stay at this place at the very end of my trip in Sri Lanka.

A really wonderful property by the lake's edge. Make sure you get one of the lake-facing rooms - the breeze that blows continuously is amazing. The garden facing rooms are not as nice but interestingly snuggle up against a ruined palace. Some of the lesser ruins are located immediately north of the hotel. You can also see elephants come down to the lake in the evenings from the rooms near the pool area. The pool is like a bathtub though despite the amazing location. Wifi is bit spotty though - it makes you login over and over.

We had a beautiful but all too brief stay at this lovely boutique hotel on the edge of Lake Parakrama. The service was excellent and so friendly and the manager Kanchana and his colleague Udesh went out of their way to welcome us and attend to our every need.

Disappointed to find no beer and no gin after long day of travel. Next evening--no ice!! Not delivered till 7pm! Don't feel this is acceptable in hotel costing this much. Food uninspiring and tea/coffee diy from packets. Surely a decent hotel can make a pot of tea for breakfast? Stunning location let down by poor staff management.

Hotel With a lot or potential.... But service needs attention : housekeeping sweeping my terrace early in the morning, wakes me up and strange to open my curtain and be faced with the person! Staff loud in corridors. Shower temperature varies from hot to cold in seconds! Restaurant menu is very poor.

To many moskitos in the room
We stay here twice because convenient from airport. The hotel is ok close to airport but we were disappointed as both times the food was poor in the dining room, waiters are a bit annoying come to the table every 5 minute or so. Our room both times had lots of moskitos and nothing was done about it, we were on the 9 th floor!

ホテルから遺跡のチケット売り場まで徒歩10分、バス停は7分です。また、そばには無料で拝観できる遺跡があり、とても便利です。ホテルは湖畔にあり、対岸を望むと野生の象がいます。部屋は広々としてとても快適です。スタッフの方々はとてもフレンドリーで色々と世話になりました。料理はコースになっており、選べるのが良かったです。

Very nice place right on the lake.
Great view, very nice and helpful staff. Nice comfy rooms with a colonial flair. Next door to the archaeology museum and the 1000 year ruins. Highly recommended.

Toll Anlage direkt am wunderschönen See, leider kaum Alternativen zum nur mäßigen Restaurant vorhanden. Sehr eigenes, historisch angehauchtes und gefälliges Design. Классно расположен. Виды потрясающие! Впечатление испортило питание в отеле. Официанты не спрашивают про специи, в итоге- принесли креветки, а есть невозможно- очень острые. На завтрак вообще отличились- не спрашивая нашего мнения- принесли комплексный национальный завтрак, а мы это не едим. Когда хотели заказать европейский( он накануне имелся), то оказалось, что можно иметь только незначительную часть его. Короче или- или. Официанты высказывали недовольство нашим «самоуправством». В остальном- прекрасно, даже музыку национальную проигрывали.

遺跡に一番近いので決めましたが思ったより高級ホテルでした。部屋数も少ない。レストランの夕食もびっくりするほど高かったですが、ここのカレーはオススメ。選べるメインのカレー以外に何種類ものカレーがついてきます。辛いのが苦手な人は、あまり辛くしないよう伝えた方が良いです。それでもちょっと辛かった。

Оплатил номер делюкс, когда приехали, нам дали обычный по меньшей цене, с двумя кроватями вместо большой, говоря при этом, что у них все номера делюкс, просто не осталось свободных из тех, что я бронировал. В итоге вернули разницу в цене после моего длительного возмущения. Территория и бассейн очень маленькие, загорать негде, готовят очень долго, еда вкусная, это единственный плюс и красивый вид. 3 звезды, не больше, предыдущую ночь провели в 4 звездочном в Канди, гораздо выше по всем показателям.

traumhaftes Hotel
Das Hotel ist wirklich jeden Cent wehrt. Die traumhafte Lage bietet jede Gelegenheit zum relaxen. Der Pool ist ein Traum und das Frühstück muss man erst einmal auf sich wirken lassen, bevor man es essen möchte. Die Zimmer sind toll eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Am Service gibt es gar nichts auszusetzen, wirklich perfekt. Würden dieses Hotel immer wieder buchen.
