"Lodging was immaculate, bed comfortable. Zayro was very accomodating once he found me a quarter mile up the really heinous dirt road since there doesn't seem to be a reception area. it's a 20 minute ride in from the paved road on one of the gnarlier dirt roads I've been on and there is no food or drink once you get there, so bring what you need."

"There are not enough positive words we can say about this place. It was truly an astonishing, incredible and unforgettable experience. We intended to go on a guided tour into the national park via the sirena ranger station before we arrived, but there was no need as all the wildlife you could ever hope for was right there on your doorstep. We saw 3 out of the 4 species of monkey native to Costa Rica including the Capuchin, Howler and spider monkey, we saw pelicans flying along the beach, Macaw Parrots, Pigs, Coati, Agouti and numerous birds and insects. Joel the host and owner is amazing, he couldn't help us enough and even treated us to a personal guided walk through the rainforest in a secret location very close by. We never return to the same location as there is alot of the world we have on our travel list, but this is the first time that we are considering going back. If you like being as close to nature as possible while having your creature comforts this is the place for you. There are no walls to the treehouse which means you are always at one with nature, it is truly magical. A wonderful place to stay for my 40th birthday. A word of warning, you must hire a 4x4 vehicle with a good amount of clearance. Our vehicle was a Mitsubishi ASX which was JUST high enough. It was good fun getting there but would of been even more enjoyable if we got a better off roader. Stock up at supermarket at Puerto Jimenez and fuel up before you leave. Thank you again Joel. "It had been 25 years since we had been to Matapalo. It had hardly changed. Place is so amazing.Also Casa Verde is an amazing house. Joel the care taker of the house stays close by and can help you with anything you need. Make sure you take a short walk and a hike to King Loui waterfall.If you want to fish. We scored big time with Donald with Dos Mas fishing charter. Great captain and bigger boat.I can not say enough about how much we loved staying at Casa Verde. Will definitely be back! Pura Vida..."

"We both share part of miscommunication at check in, since we arrived at night and they don't have frint desk at this hour. And we didn't tell them about our arrival. But everybody just move so quickly to fix everything for us even the owner phone us from out of the country to ensure everything was ok. Road was not good, but driving was ok, hour and a half from Puerto Jimenez. Rooms are big. Rest rooms are in the room, but kind of out in the open. NO AC. But fans, electricity is by solar panels, so its limited. Area is amazing and beautiful, lake nearby and kayaks, horses. NICE place into the jungle. "
