Playa de la Isla Catalina Tours and Activities

Check in was quick and easy. We got to our room, the room didn't really look clean. My wife moved the sign for changing sheets and found a dead roach on the pillow. They gave us another room with no problem. In the new room the toilet didn't really flush. The food was terrible. My wife has a gluten allergy, and there was really nothing for her to eat. The drinks were awful. The pool is way too small for the size of the resort and was crowded. Staff did come by the pool asking if we needed anything, but it was not often. There is not a pool bar on the family side, so you had to walk over to the adult pool to get something. On the next day my wife killed another roach crawling on the dresser. We changed to Riu Palace Bavaro and we loved it. The rooms were very clean, the food was a night and day difference, drinks were a lot better. They had a small bar at the family pool and staff made rounds very often. We would stay at Riu Bavaro again, but will never go back to Riu Palace Punta Cana.
