Excellent care for guests
We did not actually get to stay at this rental due to hurricane Ian, but the hosts communicated so well with me leading up to the trip, answering all my questions promptly. Sadly, the hurricane did a lot of damage to the island, but the hosts refunded all our money since we couldn’t stay there. This was beyond what the rental agreement would have said to do, and I am so thankful they were so kind! I hope to get to stay at their place in the future, but in the meantime, know that these are exceptional hosts!

Great Labor Day Weekend
This was my 2nd time at LGI and HBBC and this property was excellent, clean, newer remodel unit. They had everything we needed to enjoy our time. Looking to book our next trip soon. Maybe here or in John's new unit in building H. We absolutely love HBBC.

Best Vacation EVER!
This was one of our best vacations ever! The island never disappoints. The accommodations and property were better than expected! This was our home for a week! Plenty for the kids to play with and enjoy. The golf cart was fantastic and made life more enjoyable. Clean, comfortable, and all the necessities to make our time the most enjoyable! Highly recommend this property and property owner...a pleasure to work with. We had a blast and we will be back!

Escape from life to paradise!
This is our 3rd year at the same property and we cannot be happier! We love the new updated kitchen countertops. The unit is always clean and has a great view. We love having the beach so close and taking the golf cart there is a bonus! Being an isolated, car-free island, we love how empty the beaches are and it really is paradise without shoulder-to-shoulder tourists. We love how quiet it is and how we can spend time relaxing with our family. The hosts communicate really well and we just love this place. It's our new yearly tradition!

Perfect GETAWAY!
Perfectly maintained property with all necessary amenities +. One of the better VRBO experiences to date, on an Island location perfect for a private and quiet getaway. I had 1 question with the TV that was immediately addressed by the property through a quick phone call, which was awesome. Great Getaway!
We loved this place! What a view from the screened in porch. Little Gasparilla Island is the perfect place to let go of everything and just relax. The use of the golf cart was a bonus. We had a problem with a tire but the owner responded back to us right away and luckily we were able to keep it aired up until the new tire arrived. We loved driving around and investigating the island. The beach is great for shelling, relaxing and sunsets. Happy the owners had beach chairs and everything we needed for that. Hope to be back again soon!

Red tide, got sick from it, couldn't enjoy the ocean.
With red tide there was so many dead fish on the beach you couldn't walk without stepping on one. Very large Sea turtle dead on the beach because of red tide. We all got sick from the smell and sore throats. Other families left the island to go to Boca Grande so they could go in the ocean.Very disappointed that we couldn't enjoy the Ocean thats the reason for renting on the island. When we went to go to bed the first night and pulled down the sheets there was sand in the bed.Sheets were gritty with sand. We couldn't dry our laundry because the dryer was broken. The stay was a big let down considering it was my Birthday and we couldn't enjoy the beach or ocean and ended up getting sick from the whole experience.

Little Gasparilla
Our trip to the island was a very good experience. My Family (Wife, Myself, Two children, and our parents) all visited and had a wonderful time. The property was as listed, clean, and had all the necessities to make the stay very enjoyable. The schedule for the ferry is something to be managed, but is an experience on its own and the kids loved it. The property is very secluded and the beach access/environment was clean and felt very remote (what we were looking for). John hypercommunicated with us through the trip, as we did experience a slight issue with one of the carts, but was able to quickly and easily resolve. Overall 5/5 experience and would definitely recommend and return in the future. Recommendation; Don't forget bug spray :)

I was extremely happy overall with our stay. A few items in the condo need repair/replacing and the kitchen counters were sticky upon arrival. Both bedrooms dish TV did not work during our stay which sucked at night only, since we had a blast exploring the island and enjoying the beach with all the great thing (kayak, chairs, toys, golf cart, etc..) provided during the day. Ordered Pizza and Key Lime Pie from locals on the island that was delivered right to condo door (highly recommend both, found them on Little Gasparilla Island Facebook). We saw all kinds of sea life while we were kayaking/swimming including dolphins, rays, manatees, tons of fish and even a shark! The condo was a relaxing get away and we will be back.

Nice Hideaway unit with plenty of amenities to enjoy your stay. John was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Unfortunately for Hideaway and the owners, the Ferry Boat captains have gotten more bitter over the years and seem to have an apathy toward renters. Fortunately we had our boat to get us across as captain Mike (with the cute braided goatee) was willing to bump my wife, one and three year old to the back of the line for not signing the kids in, then saying he was too full to take them across. He made sure all was done publicly. This is no reflection of John or this unit, but I've been going to hideaway for over 20 years and have never had such an unpleasant welcome, hence the lower rating on the check in process. I would readily rent from John and Beth again.

Perfect Family Getaway to Relax!!!
If your looking for relaxing, quiet, no crowds, white sand... This is your place. My family loved the 5 days of no hustle and bustle. The condo was amazing and as advertised. The kids loved the fact they all got their own bed. Dad loved that the golf cart came with the condo so he wasn't a human pack mule heading to the beach. Having access to the kayak, sand toys, umbrellas, chairs, boogie boards etc was a huge bonus. From cruising the island on the golf cart to the kids hunting for shark teeth to playing in the surf, another epic family vacation and location is in the books.

Great condo on a beautiful island.
Owners very easy to contact and quick to respond. Property was great, very well maintained and extremely well stocked. We have stayed at resort before and this is one of the nicest. Having the golf cart available was much appreciated to get to and from the beach, pool, ferry and made exploring the island much more fun. Kayak, water toys, floats were also an added plus. Little Gasparilla Island is an oasis to unwind and reconnect. The water looked like the Caribbean! Dolphins were fun to watch. Condo was perfect for us and my sister had the large loft all to herself! Loved sitting on the screen porch overlooking the pond and the ocean beyond. This condo had so many seasonings, oil, etc. The owner was always responsive to any questions I had before arrival. I would highly recommend staying here!

This condo was the ideal place to get away from the awful Ohio winter. This was our second time on the island. We so enjoyed relaxing in the screened in porch. Even with some chillier weather it was comfortable to still feel like we were enjoying the outdoors. We did a lot of driving around the island in the golf cart. At one point one of the rear tires was low on air. The owners texted me back immediately when I asked what we should do. We ended up filling with some air at the captains garage. Thank you for sharing your peaceful cottage with us. We’ll be back to the island next year.

We didn’t know what to expect at little Gasparilla Island. It was amazing! Our kids loved the swimming pool, private beaches, golf cart rides around the island and had lots of good luck catching fish off the bay dock!! The condo was perfect size for us and clean! Great Location, Unfortunately the Golf Cart Broke in the first 15 min,
Great location, close to the beach, ocean view and plenty of sleeping accommodations but small living area. When we arrived, the floors were sandy and the cleaning service was using the golf cart. She brought it back to us but after using it for about 15 minutes a tire went flat and we had to push it back to the condo. We let the owner know and he called his repair person. I spoke to the repair person and he said he was waiting on the ok to do the repairs but nothing ever happened. We know the cart was noted as being available but no refund if mechanical problems were encountered. We were there 4 more days and no further communication about the cart repair was received. A big decision is selecting this unit was because one of our party has hip problems. With no cart it limited his access to the beach.

As for the Golf Cart, we are sorry the communication was not crisp. The golf cart has been repaired, as it had to be taken off the island to get fixed.

We had an absolute blast on our trip to LGI! We were looking for a safe place to vacation during COVID and this was it! The condo was very clean and perfect for our family of 4 (2 children- 4 and 5 yrs old). We loved having access to the golf cart that was available. We will definitely return as the beach is so close to the condo and the water was prestine. If you want to do absolutely nothing but spend time with your family and relax this is it! The only "issue" we had (which really was not an issue) was that the towels were left in the dryer by the cleaning crew. We did not realize this until halfway through our stay when we went to do laundry ourselves. We did have to search the place for extra towels to use because upon our arrival there because there were no towels out (which we found so again it wasn't a big deal). Other than that we had great communication with the owners prior to coming and we loved how updated the condo was.
