From the house you will be able to walk out the front door and down the street onto the scenic overlook of the city. The home is in Fineview, a quiet residential neighborhood.
It is close to the local Carnegie library, several pizza/sub shops, and other unique eateries. The house is within driving distance of full-service grocery stores, drug stores, coffee shops, dry cleaners, gas stations, restaurants, bars, and other night life, however, all of these types of establishments are within one or two miles. Unique to the area is the local Bread Works for delicious artistry breads.

There is a wonderful outdoor recreation space at the top of the street. The access is free for everyone to use.
Explore the fitness trail just down the street or the woods at nearby Riverview Park. Created in 1894, the park predates the City of Allegheny’s annexation to the City of Pittsburgh in 1907. Formed largely from farmland, today’s Riverview Park is known for its dense woodlands and steep topography. The park’s extensive network of trails invites hikers, joggers, and the occasional horseback rider into the woods. The park is also home to the landmark Allegheny Observatory, a visitor’s center, a swimming pool and activities building, the natural beauty of the Mairdale watershed, and the popular two-mile Riverview Loop. Residents enjoy the park's pool, playground, ball field, shelters and summertime concerts and movies.
There are an extensive choice of trails to choose from if you like to hike or mountain bike. The terrain is hilly with a wide variety of flora and fauna. The park is rich in wildlife so don't be surprised to see deer, possum, raccoons, turkeys, ground hogs and the occasional fox at night. The wildlife is very docile and are used to being around people. Please remember that although they are gentle, their personal space needs to be respected.

A comfortable place to stay and a bit “off the beaten path” in an older neighborhood in the hills of Pittsburgh. We love the eclecticism of it all. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for letting us stay.

Property had a great location she left she left snacks and filtered water for us which was great, off street parking was a plus. If we should find our way back to Pittsburgh we would definietly stay there again
I came a day early and Lisa actually picked me up and got me to a friend that had a bed I could have for the night. So sweet and helpful. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was such a charming home away from home! Lisa was wonderful to communicate with and the accommodations were top notch!!! As cold as it got in the Burgh, the home was warm and comfy and I got to experience the splendor of the hills lol!!!! A
We had a wonderful stay at Lisa’s place! Loved the convenient location and how big the space was. When we first arrived we had a problem with the shower but Lisa was very quick to respond and got it fixed quickly. I very much appreciated all her friendliness. We look forward to staying again!
Overall great place to stay. Clean house. Very receptive host. Great proximity to a lot of sight seeing and things to do in Pittsburgh. Highly recommended.
First off the Host was super helpful and nice. Answered any questions I had very promptly. The house was nice and comfortable. It was in a great location no more than 8-12 mins from anywhere we wanted to go see.
Was in town for a concert at the Roxian Theater. Made a long weekend of it and brought our dogs. Property was perfect for our needs. Very eclectic with lots of character. Close to everything including Riverview Park for hiking with the pups. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We checked in late and checked out early for home, and did not have any time to check out all the amenities. Our goal was a hot shower and a comfortable bed, and Lisa’s place provided.
Very close to everything but not by foot. The hills to the house are steep! Most attractions are within just a couple of miles. Fantastic view! Clean and the host was quick to respond.
The house was clean and perfect for a couple’s getaway for a football game. Great and quick communication with the owner. One side note for persons with issues when climbing stairs: The stairway leading to the second story is a bit steep. Not an issue for us, but it may be one for someone else. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!
We loved this older home surrounded by beautiful antique furniture and artwork. We loved the view of Pittsburgh from the lookout down the street and how close everything is to the property. This is NOT a handicapped accessible property, however. This doesn’t deter us from booking here in the future, but the only bathroom and bedroom is on the second floor up pretty steep stairs. The front door also requires to walk up stairs. Again, we didn’t mind, but we also weren’t expecting it due to the listing description. We highly recommend this property to any able-bodied person/couple! Also, be prepared for no TV in the main bedroom upstairs.
The property is absolutely lovely and the view at the end of the block is spectacular, and makes you realize why Pittsburgh is considered one of the prettiest cities in the country. The driving takes some getting used to, and a tablespoon of courage helps. There’s no stores or restaurants closeby. That’s the only drawback. We used Doordash until we figured out the routes around the area. It’s actually a handy location once you get oriented.
Thank you for your hospitality. We’ll almost certainly be back next year.
We were in town for our daughter's birthday and the Fair in the Park, in Mellon Park. This location was convenient for all of our plans, plus close to the Strip District, which is one of our favorites places to visit and shop. This home was warm and inviting and just what we were looking for during our stay! Thank you for allowing us to stay.Kathy

A charming house, carefully curated by the owner. Lisa was wonderful to work with.
Great old house, home away from home vibes. Clean and open space, great communication with us before and during our stay. Host is willing to look into things if she doesn't already have helpful insights!
We were in town for Picklesburgh with our dog and the home was everything we needed. It was safe, fenced in, and comfortable. Any makeup girlies, utilize the cabinet in the bathroom it will save you time getting ready. The stairs are steep but going up them a few times will get you used to them. Grateful there were enough towels and washcloths for our stay, we’ve not had that luck at many places we’ve stayed at. Highly recommend this place! Host was an excellent communicator and made sure we had everything we needed.
