From the house you will be able to walk out the front door and down the street onto the scenic overlook of the city. The home is in Fineview, a quiet residential neighborhood.
It is close to the local Carnegie library, several pizza/sub shops, and other unique eateries. The house is within driving distance of full-service grocery stores, drug stores, coffee shops, dry cleaners, gas stations, restaurants, bars, and other night life, however, all of these types of establishments are within one or two miles. Explore the fitness trail just down the street or the woods at nearby Riverview Park. Created in 1894, the park predates the City of Allegheny’s annexation to the City of Pittsburgh in 1907. Formed largely from farmland, today’s Riverview Park is known for its dense woodlands and steep topography. The park’s extensive network of trails invites hikers, joggers, and the occasional horseback rider into the woods. The park is also home to the landmark Allegheny Observatory, a visitor’s center, a swimming pool and activities building, the natural beauty of the Mairdale watershed, and the popular two-mile Riverview Loop. Residents enjoy the park's pool, playground, ball field, shelters and summertime concerts and movies.
There are an extensive choice of trails to choose from if you like to hike or mountain bike. The terrain is hilly with a wide variety of flora and fauna. The park is rich in wildlife so don't be surprised to see deer, possum, raccoons, turkeys, ground hogs and the occasional fox at night. The wildlife is very docile and are used to being around people. Please remember that although they are gentle, their personal space needs to be respected.
