"Hotel Piran was no frills but the location and the staff were great! It is right on the water and the sunset from this location is fantastic. Parking is a distance but the friendliest, most fun man drives you back and forth. The walls are thin so it can be a little noisy. Breakfast was just ok."

"We had a lovely stay at Hotel Histrion. Our room was clean and comfortable, and it was great to have a kettle and mini fridge provided. The only downside was that the tea and coffee weren’t restocked during our stay. Breakfast was fine, with enough choice to start the day. A high chair was also always available for our daughter, which was really convenient. Unfortunately, the indoor pool at Hotel Histrion was closed during our stay, but this didn’t matter at all as we had plenty of other options. We were able to use the outdoor swimming area at Bernardin Plaza, as well as the outdoor pool at Apartments Vila Barka, free of charge. We also had the option of using the indoor pool at Grand Hotel Bernardin, but the weather was so lovely that we much preferred being outside! The outdoor swimming area at Bernardin Plaza was fantastic and really made our stay. It was a great alternative to the closed pool and meant we could still enjoy plenty of swimming and relaxing in the sunshine! Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily return!"

"The no friils room was large and staged like an apt. The view was fantastic looking right over the harbor. We could get fresh towels when we asked. There is no lift so be prepared to walk 4 flights of steps. The parking was confusing in the beginning but once we figured it out, it was fine. The building is in the heart of it all."

"Don’t be put off by the lack of reviews - this place is great. Recently done out. Rooms immaculate. Dining hall the same and a great variety of food. Wonderful seafront location with delightful walk to Piran and Portoroz nearby the other way. Staff all really helpful. Great pool just by the sea. Lovely little row of gift shops between the rooms and the pool area. Only thing was you had to pay for sun loungers but I think quite a few places do that in Italy. We were two adults and three children who came for a rest after travelling for a week and it was brilliant."

"Very large clean room. Loved getting clean beach towels every day. The beach and swimming pool were very nice. Plenty of seating. Breakfast was particularly good with lots of choice."

"Second visit, two years after our first. A little run down, breakfast is ok, not deserving of the “top rated” note, It was not even a question when I started my review which is strange. Staff is much less smiling then before or even other places is Slovenia. (just did Ljubljiana and Bled before this) In fact I would go as far as saying that the bar/dining room staff has not smiled once in the two days. Maybe August was tough on them The location is amazing though, the beach is rocky, but water was at 28c!!! The two restaurants 100 m away were good and staff was friendly. The path to Piran is also a nice way to get into town"
