About this property

Stairway to Heaven · 2 Homes, 2 Hot Tubs, Boulders

  • Summary:

Stairway to Heaven is a desert retreat for groups who love being together but appreciate room to spread out. Two newly built homes sit on five boulder-strewn acres near Pioneertown, with private hiking trails, two hot tubs, and six ensuite bedrooms, including a casita. Spend the day exploring the property, gather for dinner, or settle into your own corner of the desert. Here, a group getaway doesn't have to mean doing everything together.

    The Space:

The beauty of Stairway to Heaven is the freedom to move at your own pace. One part of the group might head into the hills while another enjoys a slow morning at home. The two residences, Heaven's Door and Heaven's View, each have their own living spaces, kitchens, and outdoor amenities, making it easy to share a vacation while maintaining a little independence.

Designed by Yves Kamioner and Michael Baiamonte, the interiors bring an unexpected creative sensibility to the rugged landscape. Sculptural furnishings, carefully chosen artwork, warm textures, and generous windows give the homes their distinct personalities. Outside, contemporary architecture meets massive boulders, desert vegetation, and sweeping mountain views. It's an inspiring setting for a reunion, a getaway with friends, or an extended family trip.

    -Highlights-

► Two newly built homes on five private acres near Pioneertown

► Private hiking trails winding through the backyard boulders

► Two hot tubs, one at each home

► Cowboy tubs for cooling off, unavailable November through March

    ► Two outdoor showers

► Two propane grills and outdoor lounging areas

► Sun loungers with desert and mountain views

► Interiors designed by Yves Kamioner and Michael Baiamonte

► Six bedrooms, each with a private ensuite bathroom

► Two fully stocked kitchens and separate living areas

► Private casita bedroom included in the six-bedroom total

    ► Two EV chargers

    -Outdoor Amenities-

Five acres of rocky hillsides and open desert turn the property itself into a destination. Walk out the back door and follow the private trails among the boulders, find a favorite lookout, or spend an afternoon exploring without ever leaving the grounds.

Both homes have their own hot tubs, so guests can unwind in smaller groups rather than gathering around a single spa. The cowboy tubs provide a refreshing place to cool off during the warmer months, while two outdoor showers make rinsing off part of the outdoor experience. Please note that the cowboy tubs are not in-ground swimming pools and are drained and unavailable from November through March.

Sun loungers and outdoor seating invite you to stay outside a little longer, whether you're reading, catching up with friends, or watching the last light move across the mountains. Two propane grills make outdoor cooking easy, and the separate outdoor spaces give everyone room to find their own favorite spot.

When you're ready for a change of scenery, Pioneertown and its well-known gathering place, Pappy & Harriet's, are nearby for food, music, and a taste of the area's character.

    -Living Area-

Each home offers a different interpretation of modern desert living. Tall windows connect the interiors to the surrounding landscape, while thoughtfully layered furniture and artwork introduce warmth and personality.

In one living space, a relaxed sofa, sculptural coffee table, leather seating, and softly filtered natural light create an inviting place to settle in. The clean architectural lines are balanced by tactile materials and distinctive decorative pieces, giving the interiors a collected, residential feel rather than the formality of a show home.

Having two separate living areas is particularly valuable for larger groups. Friends can gather for conversation or a movie in one house while others enjoy a quieter evening in the other. There's room for everyone to be together, but no pressure to spend every moment in the same room.

    -Kitchen and Dining-

With a fully stocked kitchen in each home, meals can unfold on everyone's schedule. Early risers can make breakfast without disturbing the rest of the group, and preparing dinner doesn't mean crowding everyone into one kitchen.

The kitchens are designed to be part of the living experience, making it easy to cook, talk, and spend time together. Each home also has its own propane grill, giving the group the option to prepare meals outdoors and enjoy the desert air.

Whether you're organizing a shared dinner or keeping things casual between adventures, the two-home layout makes feeding a larger group considerably more flexible.

    -Bedrooms and Bathrooms-

Stairway to Heaven features six bedrooms and six bathrooms spread across the two homes, with a private ensuite bathroom for every bedroom. The arrangement is especially appealing for multiple couples or families traveling together, giving each bedroom its own bathroom and offering separate places to unwind.

    -House #1 (Lower Home)-

The lower home features three bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a king bed, Bedroom 2 has a queen bed, and Bedroom 3 has a king bed. All three bedrooms have private ensuite bathrooms.

    -House #2 (Higher Home)-

The higher home includes two bedrooms within the main residence. Bedroom 4 has a king bed, and Bedroom 5 has a queen bed, both with private ensuite bathrooms.

Bedroom 6 is located in the casita and features a king bed and its own ensuite bathroom. This additional space provides a welcome sense of separation for guests who prefer a quieter retreat. The casita is included in the property's total of six bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The property can accommodate up to 16 guests, but there are only six beds across the two homes. If your group includes 16 guests, please bring your own air mattresses to accommodate the additional four guests.

    Guest Access:

The entire house and property are yours to enjoy! Please note that a few supply closets stay locked to store rental supplies.

You will receive a digital keypad code for each home, giving you full access to both properties during your stay.

Text sent to us about entry was very imprecise. Address was from “upper house” so we drove right by lower house, where is lockbox, what is casita, code on upper house front door would not lock or it would lock from inside & could not open, very confusing
