"We were very pleased with our stay overall. The house is spacious, the pool is excellent and larger than expected, and the location is a major strength. It is in a quiet area, a short walk from a lovely beach. Monte Gordo is also walkable or around 6 by taxi; we recommend visiting in the evening when it is much livelier. The local supermarket and bakery were excellent, with larger supermarkets a short taxi ride away.The kitchen was well equipped, although dated, and the beds were adequate rather than particularly comfortable. Mosquitoes were noticeable, so come prepared with repellent and plug-in deterrents.The room layout is not clear in the listing. The first floor has three en-suite rooms: a twin with its own terrace and two doubles sharing a sunny terrace. The ground floor has a twin without an en-suite but with a nearby bathroom. Downstairs are two doubles: one en-suite with a courtyard, while the other has no en-suite or air conditioning.The games room has a pull-out bed, but we would not use it as a bedroom as it also lacks air conditioning. It is dated, the air hockey barely worked and you need to bring darts, although the table football was good.We watched the solar eclipse from the roof terrace, which was memorable, but it has no furniture and is not set up for regular use. We also would not recommend the nearby beach venue, as we were not allowed to have drinks without ordering food.Overall, a great property with a fantastic pool and location"

"Good location, a 10 minuts walk to the beach, confortable. Negative: the shadowed área, for outside meals, is insuficient (large square tablet x long rectangular area)... Easy to correct by changing the table format..."

"A few very minor gripes, but the house was perfect for our time with our family.Plus side- plenty of room for our party of 6 adults plus 5 and 3 Yr olds and 20 month old. Pool was perfect and the older children learned to swim independently with a noodle. Genuinely 300 mtrs from a fantastic beach which shelved gently and had perfect sand for sandcastles. Not quite the Atlantic nor the med, water was chilly and had some good waves. Good little local shop and cafe back towards the main road. Host was incredibly kind and let us use the outdoor space on our last morning after we vacated the villa which was brilliant. Thank you for that.We had the most wonderful time all together - very special when we are all busy living in different parts of the country. Negatives - niggling things, and I got over these quite quickly, but, no instructions to hand - they were in a drawer out of sight. No cot on our arrival, but sorted within 1/2 hour. 2 toilet rolls provided for a household of 9. No instructions for kitchen electric items and buttons too worn on the microwave to be readable.Management company fairly terse with their responses with some wrong info given. There IS separate recycling, not all in one bin as the contact said.Couple of loose cobbles which we repaired ourselves. I think the management company need to be a little mire diligent. BUT...above all, this property is fabulous and the owners delightful to communicate with.We would go again in a flash!"

"Great location as near to beach and restaurants. All rooms have sea views and are clean with comfy beds. They gift you a free beach bag and hat for every room. Very nice touch. Hotel do provide shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and body wash. However the body wash is from a dispenser and did not get topped up when it became empty. Breakfast was all right, it is repetitive and only wish there was more hot food options."

"Excellent location, surroundings, amazing resort concept. Beautiful design blended with natural elements with lots of respect for the environment. Pine woods, sand dunes, natural vegetation all beautifully preserved and integrated. The beach itself is excellent. Proper deep sand, very clean water, very flat, excellent for children. The food in both restaurants including the beach club was very high quality."
