1900's Log Cabin with Spectacular Valley View

Book a stay at our wonderful and unique cabin that goes way back to the 1900's when the Wandcrest Community was founded by the original owners. We have wonderful mountain and valley views and tons of wildlife (especially deer, singing birds, and chipmunks!). Our community is incredibly inclusive and open to guests that are searching for a relaxing, and serene getaway for a couple of days!

Very quiet, heartwarming, and inclusive community. It is a one-of-a-kind property that wouldn't leave anybody indifferent. A collection of unique, vintage knick-knacks from the 19th and 20th centuries: an original telephone built back in the 1900's, 1940's Jukebox, Christmas ornaments and cabin decorations from the late 20th century, and a set of eternal classics of literature including 'The Scarlet Letter', and 'Robinson Crusoe'. The blue range cabin holds a deep and family-friendly history back from 1875. Among a multi-cultural community forged by Italian, German, French, and English pioneers, our property inherited its warm, and nostalgic spirit of the past. Our property is incredibly warm and cozy!

Per your visit, you will have a comfy living room with television, a wooden kitchen, a bedroom with a queen size bed, and a bathroom with a traditional-style cast iron tub all to yourself. Outdoors, you are welcome to grill your own BBQ, take a walk, observe the wildlife, and hike the surroundings! The Wandcrest community is incredibly serene, calm, and friendly to all. One of our unique features is the multiculturality of our neighbors, and the history of Park county.

The intersection at the entrance of Wandcrest is a great social spot to get to know the area. The property features 2 parking spaces, one on the upper level, and another on the lower level, next to the cabin. Both parking spaces are available to guests at all times, due to the dirt road leading to the cabin, some guests may or may not prefer to park easier. Per owner's request, a 3rd parking space may be available. Visit us, and dive deep into the American Dream!

*Important Information*
*The last road section and driveway to the cabin is quite difficult for our guests to conquer so we highly recommend you have a 4WD vehicle on hand especially in the winter season to ensure that you not get stuck on our driveway and make it safely up to the cabin*

*Weather Tips*
Colorado has been progressively getting drier; generally we don't have our biggest snowstorms until late winter and spring (March/April). Most of the snow that falls before and after then melts within a day or two. At times snow has helped our guests get up the dirt road as it provided cushion for the holes in the road. Please consider this when booking.

Unique cabin
The experience at the cabin was very interesting the surroundings are very beautiful and the host was very welcoming. You need a four-wheel-drive Vehicle to get easy access to the property a decent property for the cost but the main bed is not very comfortable.

Red Rocks
The property is exactly as described: a quaint cabin with a bumpy drive! It suited our needs perfectly: we chose the area for its proximity to Red Rocks Amphitheater as we were in town to see Bonnie Raitt. During our stay, we enjoyed a couple of meals at Crossroads and some hikes at Staunton State Park. We arrived a little early, but the cabin was open and we made ourselves at home (even though Vita told us they weren't completely done with the cleaning, that was fine with us). Our first night there, the internet was out. I contacted Vita and received a prompt reply and updates. We had a mule deer and her fawn greet us our first morning!

First off, the description of the road is a major understatement. If you do not have a raised 4x4, you have no chance of making it to the cabin. Even with our Jeep Wrangler we had trouble sometimes. To be knit picky: the cabin is a little old and musty, and there are stains everywhere. There are only 3 windows with a screen on them, which is sufficient for circulation, but it’d be nice to air it all out without fear of letting in some of the wildlife. We did see and catch a mouse, which wasn’t a big deal cause we were up in the mountains and expected to see life up there. The pullout mattress is folded in the kitchen and is full of mouse droppings. My wife and I were going to pull it out and use it because the main bed was so uncomfortable but decided to put it back after seeing that. We also wish there was a place to store our clothes; the drawers in the bedroom were being used for things already. But the location of the cabin really outweighs the bad. Conifer is 15 minutes away with grocery stores, food, state parks, and horseback riding. Getting off the mountain towards Denver only takes 30-45 minutes and going the other way you can get to mount princeton in less than 2 hours with hot springs and lots of cool stops on the way. Bailey is also 15 minutes away with a Sasquatch outpost and other little stores. It’s a great stop for a getaway. One of our days got rained out so we stayed in the cabin all day and watched movies on the tv. So it is really great for whatever you want. You won’t be bugged by other people but the host does live about 50 feet away. They keep to themselves and you can’t hear them. I only saw them once. Communication with the host was very nice, she was very responsive and friendly. We did get a message around 6 on our checkout day of when we’d be checking out and our wifi “randomly” shut off a little after that.

This was a nice relaxing place to stay. We had deer come up to the front door. You definitely have to have 4-wheel drive to get up the driveway.

Incredible journey. A must stay.
Everything you would hope for in a cabin up in the mountains. Great views. Enough close by to keep you properly fed and watered. Close proximity to most major highways to travel in all direction. Highly recommend. Extremely accommodating and makes it an easy in an out. The owners are very pleasant and live near by to help with anything you need. Going back for certain.

Mountain Retreat
This was the perfect place for our stay while visiting family who live nearby. The cabin was quaint and quiet with just enough space for the three of us. Directions were excellent as well as communication to us from the host. Bed was comfy, shower was hot, and my 9 year old found the futon comfortable.
