Beautifully restored building, great pool

This historic building has been immaculately restored into a modern hotel. The bed was by far the most comfortable we stayed in during 2 weeks in Italy. The spa complex features an indoor/outdoor pool with an amazing view of the valley. It also has a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and ice water barrel. I loved coming back to the hotel in the afternoon, eating some of the fresh, ripe fruit left by the pool and lounging. It was completely relaxing and restorative. The staff was helpful on every occasion, taking an interest in our day trips and providing assistance when they could. Breakfast had a good spread and again, the fresh fruit was excellent. We didn't have dinner at the restaurant because it was closed during our stay. Parking was in a private lot behind the hotel. One tiny suggestion: the bathroom could use a hook for the towels and a little shelf for the soap and shampoo, so that you didn't have to get the floor all wet to reach for things. We had a lovely time, though, and would definitely stay again.
