Incredible location with beautiful views. Very peaceful environment. We drove from Hazyview and we stayed 2 nights at the lodge. We did the village walk with our 4 year old and we really enjoyed and found it really interesting. I think this is a great place to visit for people who come from the panorama route, definitely recommend it
We spent one night here on our honeymoon on our way back to SA...wish we had more time to stay longer. Wonderful staff and accommodations. The food was great and there is a great network of trails on property to explore, including a river full of waterfalls.
A lovely peaceful spot, wonderful waterfalls, very good food and lovely staff. Love the fact that while enjoying all of the above, you are also supporting the ecolodge and helping protect the environment. Full recommend it.
Lovely Rustic Lodge in the Mountains & Great Staff
The ecolodge is set in the hills near Pigg's Peak, with a lovely view over the surrounding country. It's on the rustic rather than luxurious side, which is exactly what we wanted. It's very quiet and peaceful and the staff are all absolutely fantastic. The drive up to the lodge is on a logging track so proceed with caution, as it's not kind on the suspension of smaller cars, but still perfectly accessible all the same. There are shorter and longer walks in and around the nature reserve that can be undertaken from the lodge itself, and we spotted Red Duiker in among the trees close to the lodge early one morning. The falls themselves are lovely, but were not at their full extent when we stayed there. The location is in the north east of Swaziland so bear this in mind, as it's a 90 minute drive to the main attractions in the valley the drive is incredibly scenic, but be aware that mist can sometimes descend over the mountain road, making visibility very poor in some sections. There is a lowveld alternative route that can be taken if the weather is bad. The town of Pigg's Peak itself is small but has a supermarket, petrol stations and various shops to let you pick up any supplies you need.
The area is beautiful, in the heart of a nature reserve which had decent hiking trails and views. The staff however, could use a complete overhaul. They are very unfriendly, and asking for anything is like pulling out a tooth. Their attitudes leave a lot to be desired. The food was rather shocking for an establishment of this nature, and despite having a menu for breakfast, you'd be hard pressed to get even half of the items on there. As for free wifi, don't hold your breath. It is only available at the restaurant and with dodgy reception. For the price paid, this place is regrettably avoidable
Very nice stay- 2 nights enough on our way to Maputo from Joburg.
Nice walks and falls.
Nice swimming pool
But be carrefull wioth your invoice!
What we did not like: we were invoiced at the end of our stay: 5360 R for 2 nights acomodation less 50% of prepayment at Booking rate by Neamsile Simelane at receptionthough we had paid everything at a lower rate: 4861 R via booking.
After prooving we had pay 100% of our stay we only had to pay for meals and beverages. Be carefull!
Friendly, helpful staff. Most wonderful setting - stayed in a luxury tent right on river edge. Walks well signposted and maintained - we really enjoyed these and the falls were lovely. Food was excellent and enjoyed the Swazi traditional dishes. Stayed two nights and would have liked to stay longer to do more of the walks.
Nice location in the mountains. Very scenic, a couple hiking trails one hear the waterfall but otherwise not a lot to do. Bathrooms were outside the tent rooms which is a little inconvenient. Food was very good.
