This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Wanted a beautiful view, quiet, cozy and this place checked them all. We were there for only three nights and it felt like home. We went for our 5 year wedding anniversary and we could not have been happier! (Every year we get back into our wedding ensembles and retake pictures. The pier was perfect!)
Beautiful, peaceful place to stay. We very much enjoyed watching the boats go through. Absolutely perfect for one or two couples looking forward to relaxation in an adorable cabin.
No traffic noise except maybe when the freighters passed. Awesome sunrises. Dock was more than enough for our 22' pontoon. And fishing was very productive
A great place to relax and enjoy those around you. Very clean property and very well stocked with toiletries and so on. Easy checkin and easy layout of house and yard.
The stay was fantastic and the cabin was amazing. It is right on the water with privacy. We loved how everything was labeled and how cozy the cabin was. We recommend this place to anyone looking to get away but also be within driving range of all the great spots the UP has to offer.
This property has WiFi but the guest are not allowed to use it. Cell service was almost non existent. If we had an emergency we had no way to contact first responders. No oven. This property is beautiful, well kept and quiet. A great place to visit.
This was a wonderful getaway! Great cabin with beautiful views! Dock works out really well for boating. Loved bringing my portable grill and using the covered grill area. So relaxing, I would highly recommend it.
Loved everything about it. We'll forever have memories relaxing on the dock, conversing around the fire, and grilling some trout we caught on the babeque setup.
Very clean, cute, and cozy cabin. Beautiful view of the bay, enjoyed the sunrises. Quiet surroundings. We did an early morning kayak and paddle boat trip. Water was a bit choppy at times but pretty to watch.
Property was very clean and all you need in the kitchen. Beds are comfortable with nice linens. View was great and we liked the screened porch. The cabin felt newly redone and well cared for. It would be nice to have Wi-Fi since cell reception is spotty.
My husband of 42 years and myself were looking for a nice quiet spot in Michigan's UP, preferably on the water. Maple Pointe Hideaway did not disappoint! So, so lovely, peaceful and relaxing. Five days were not enough. The cabin is wonderfully equipped with everything you need and decorated beautifully yet a short car trip will get you into the town of Pickford for a trip to the grocery store or gas station. We will be reserving another trip for sure to this peaceful and relaxig
We genuinely could not have asked for a more perfect place to get away for a long weekend. The property is stunning and we were treated to a dazzling display of the northern lights as soon as we arrived on our first night. The cabin was immaculately clean and equipped with everything we needed for an easeful stay. Perfect for anyone who wants a secluded space to disconnect while still being an easy drive to so many fabulous UP destinations. We would 100% book another stay here - maybe for a full week next time as we both agreed on our last day that we needed at least 2 more nights. Thank you for sharing this amazing retreat with us!
This is the perfect cabin for two, four or a small family. Everything was above expectations and exactly as presented on the website. Very clean, comfortable and the cabin has everything you need. Took us a bit to figure out the pop-up power strip in the counter but that was on us! Suki responded immediately when we had a small issue with door lock. Great place and great owners! Thank you Suki and David for a great stay.
We enjoyed everything about our stay and look forward to returning.
The cabin was very clean and had modern appliances which made us feel at home. The furniture and bed were very comfortable. The decor was nicely put together.
We enjoyed sitting on the deck by the water watching a storm come in, sunrises and sunsets, and freighters (in the distance). We saw a hen turkey and her young several times, also eagles, northern flickers and other woodpeckers, king fishers and other birds. They were helpful and quick to respond to questions.
I drove up to the UP from Detroit for some solo relaxation time. Loved the fire pit, the cabin itself, and the views. Everything was super clean and cozy, and the bed was super comfy. My only complaint is that the neighbors were much closer than I had felt the listing implied— one neighbor had a large piece of loudly humming machinery (generator?) for a whole evening, and I could hear many individual conversations. Kinda took me out of the “remote” mindset! But the cabin itself was awesome and I’d definitely recommend this spot to anyone who wants the picturesque UP experience but doesn’t mind the proximity to strangers.
To put it mildly. During our stay at this well above standards of cleanliness. We explored miles and miles of the UP. The Cabin was so in tune with the nature of the UP that we had changed our plans just to make sure we could enjoy the cabin! I LOVED the grill set up! I don’t know how many times I said that out loud while I was grilling BBQ chicken zucchini and roadside sweet corn! The beds were so comfortable TV worked great for the isolation. It is an absolute treasure!! My hats off to the Dave & Suki VanSweden! They made our trip even better just by being there at a moment’s notice for questions and insights! A pleasure to rent from them and even more of a pleasure to experience the UP in the care they show with a great Cabin! I can tell you so much more. But the little and big surprises you find there is best left to your own discoveries!
You won’t be disappointed…
We stayed a week and truly perfected relaxation here. The cabin is the cleanest cabin we have ever stayed in and had everything possible thing you could want. You have a gem who comes in and prepares the place for the next renters. Everything in the cabin was comfortable--so well thought out. We spent a lot of time on the deck and the dock watching the eagles fly over, the nearby Kingfisher up in the tree, and saw some deer wander through. We had far more fun paddling around in the paddle boat than we had expected. Early mornings on the porch watching the sun come up was awesome, then evenings we'd go down to the dock again and were in awe of the moon coming up and reflecting on the lake. We saw many ships go by, got the binoculars and watched their progress. We enjoyed touring around Pickford and other small towns, finding fun places to eat and lots of friendly people. This is truly a place that we may wish to come back when we want to get away from the routines of daily life and find the pleasure of the woods, the water, and a cozy place to rest and refresh. Thank you Dave and Suki for sharing your little piece of Heaven with us.
