Location was great walking distance to everything, the place was cute and spotless for what we wanted. The only downfall was the parking and the nightlife. I wish we were given a heads up about the parking situation prior too and or some sort of suggestion due to the location and how busy it gets at night. Especially since you have to pay every time you leave the lot next to. Other than that, it was good!
The apartment had clearly JUST been renovated, to the point that there was still construction dust and sawdust everywhere (including being pulled through the vent fan and into the microwave/onto the stove every time we tried to use it). It's clear that while everything looks nice at first glance, the renovations were done as cheaply as possible and a lot of corners were cut. Things are serviceable and the fixtures are nice and new, but if you're looking for that homey feeling or a lot of charm or coziness, you'll probably be disappointed. One of the window shades also wasn't working, one of the windows had a broken pane of glass, and since there were no windows in the kitchen or bathroom, ventilation was not fantastic. Additionally, I had to message the host to get the wifi password and there were no written check-out instructions or house rules posted in the unit. I'm sure that some of these issues are because it's so newly-listed, so I hope that they are addressed in the future once things have had a chance to settle down. The unit is in a great location, although be warned that the block of 2nd St where it's located is a big nightlife hub, so things can get pretty noisy--especially on the weekends. For a short stay this was a fine place to crash that is conveniently located near public transit options and lots of good restaurants and activities. It's certainly very affordable, and the host was very responsive and friendly via messages which I appreciated.
