I had a wonderful time at the Alpenhof. I’m going back in a few weeks. The home is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. I enjoyed the breakfasts too. This is a great place to stay if you’re in or near Media. Highly recommended.

Wonderfully unique B&B in the woods

A very unique place. Outside looks like any house in the neighborhood, but once you step inside, it feels like you’ve stepped into a medieval castle of sorts. Amazing old world charm, and works of art and pictures everywhere. In the dining room are a lot of pictures of the house thru the years so you can see the progression. I was told the house is over 300 years old. The hosts were great, very friendly and accommodating without making you feel like they were hovering. They serve a “cook to order” breakfast every morning. Everything was delicious, quite a few options on the menu. The place was clean, quiet and the surrounding grounds were lovely. It’s apparent that they love nature and gardening as there are many plants and flowers everywhere. Unfortunately the pool was closed due to the season, but the pool area looked inviting if the weather permits. I highly recommend a stay here.

Our hosts were very lovely. They were so accommodating and they served a delicious breakfast. Their property is surrounded by a beautiful flower garden and the inside of the inn is truly an art museum. Our stay was peaceful (exactly what we wanted) and the pool made the scorching outside temperatures bearable. If you're visiting the Media, PA area, I promise that you'll love Alpenhof Bed & Breakfast.

An amazing experience! Such a beautiful building, the decor is unmatched. Lots of communal rooms and places to gather. The owners are so incredibly sweet and helpful. Alpenhof is everything you’d want in a B&B times a thousand. The owners greet you warmly and remain available while giving you space. The rooms are impeccable - every detail thoughtfully designed for the experience, and each bed (I’ve stayed in different rooms over the years) is so sooo comfortable!! There’s an enormous amount of gorgeous space - inside each room, in the incredible common areas, and on the landscaped grounds outside. I’ve never had a desire to re-visit a hotel or Airbnb or B&B before - but I’ve been back to Alpenhof half a dozen times over the last few years - each stay consistently amazing - and am always excited to stay again. If I could give twenty stars I would - outstanding experience!!!

The owners were lovely! They were friendly, warm, kind, attentive, and so interesting. Although the property was beautiful and cozy and picturesque, the owners were the best part. Additionally, the room was clean, had everything we needed, comfy and roomy! The shower was beautiful and great water pressure. Plus, breakfast was scrumptious! If I am in the area again, I would definitely go back there.

This place is a gem! It’s an absolutely beautiful property, both inside and out. The hosts are lovely, warm people, the breakfast is fabulous and basically made to order and there is a wonderful, friendly vibe among the guests. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. I’ve returned once and hope to again. Also, a short drive to shops and restaurants in one direction and a beautiful park with trails along a river in the other. I highly, highly recommend this place.

It was back in the Ridley Creek State Park area of Media, PA. It is an older building that has been renovated. Each room has its own bathroom with shower. The breakfasts were delicious and individual to each guest. The owners are very personable, willing to talk and suggest places to see and visit. The B&B is fairly central to many Delaware County attractions and downtown Media where there is quite a bit of shopping and places to eat. I would recommend Alpenhof to anyone wanting a quiet location outside of town. If we are back in the Philly area again will definitely stay there.

My husband and I came to this lovely B&B for one night for our 20th wedding anniversary. Wow!! What a beautiful place! Well kept with gardens and pool outside. Inside clean and charmingly unique. The couple who owns it are extremely hospitable, friendly, and kind! Our bed was extremely comfortable and breakfast---We felt like we were kings and queens! Couldn't recommend this place more!! :)
