"Host allowed us to check-in an hour early. The main headline of this property — and the “popular amenities” section — highlights a hot tub, which was one of the main reasons we booked. I understand that things can break unexpectedly, but the hot tub issue was only disclosed one day before arrival (and only after I asked about it). By that time, rebooking wasn’t an option. What made the situation disappointing was not the breakdown itself, but the host’s dismissive and rude response when I asked...

"The owners spent a ton of money remodeling the place and did a good job. We rented it for the holidays but the day before the cleaners noticed a problem and the owners had to call us to cancel our reservation. At first that sounds horrible, but it was not due to their neglect and had they allowed us to stay the result would have been less then great. I am thankful they sacrificed their income to make sure we did not experience a bad rental."

"I stayed in town to care for an ill friend in hospital. I thought I was staying on the lower level of the house. It was actually an upstairs apartment with outside access & steep stairs to take your luggage up. I was hoping the host would be flexible with my check-in and check-out since I was looking for accommodations to sleep during day and leave for hospital in early eve. each day, He was not. It would be an extra $20 for every hour if I wanted to stay later or check in earlier. I was...
