Charming 2-bedroom guest suite right on Keuka Lake with all the comforts of home

Welcome to the "Phoenix Nest at Whispering Waters"! Penn Yan and Keuka Lake are waiting for you at this private 2-bedroom lakefront guest suite. We have welcomed guests to Whispering Waters (our cottage) for 20 years. Now it is our new “forever” home and the Phoenix Nest is the beautiful guest suite we have designed on lawn level, with its own private entrance, to afford our guests privacy and comfort separate from our family while enjoying full lake views from every room. The property is only 3 miles from Penn Yan on the desirable East Side of Keuka Lake. It sits off the main road w/ a spacious yard and private deck; perfect for peace and quiet. And you're only steps from the beach and lake.
The brand-new suite is filled with personal touches and comfortable furnishings, not the sterile atmosphere of most rental agency properties. The entire space has fantastic views of the lake, with Keuka College directly across. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking and dining accoutrements, and boasts all new appliances, plenty of counter space, and bar seating. The 2 bedrooms are at opposite ends of the suite giving couples or parents with children, privacy from each other. Each bedroom has a queen bed, closet, and dresser to store belongings, as well as a ceiling fan, HDTV, and heat pump split (for heat and a/c) giving each room its own thermostat. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with large walk-in shower and in-floor heating. The hall bathroom is directly across from the 2nd bedroom and has a tub with both a standard and hand-held shower. Both bathrooms are supplied with hair dryers and 100% vegan & cruelty-free bath products. The living room and dining space sit between the bedrooms and are furnished for comfort and relaxation. You'll find a fully vented gas fireplace, a 55" HDTV with multiple streaming services and DVD player, and a selection of books and games for the enjoyment of all ages. And for those who can't vacation without washing clothing, the suite has its own laundry room/mudroom with full size washing machine, dryer, sink, and iron right inside the entry door. There is WiFi throughout the space, and an air printer in case the need arises.
The private deck will call to you in the warmer weather. It spans the full length of the suite and is furnished with cushioned seating with ceiling fan, and a separate dining area with gas grill, with retractable screens to moderate the afternoon sun in both spaces. The views are spectacular, especially at sunset!
For water activity, the beach house staircase leads to some of the finest lakefront available on Keuka Lake. The natural pebble beach, gradual entry swimming area and dock with swim ladder are ideal for families with children. There is an abundance of different seating and a variety of water and beach toys. Additionally, there are 2 kayaks for guest use if the lake is calling. And if you're a firebug like this owner, an evening spent by the new firepit on the beach will be right up your alley!
Activities in the area are abundant for all seasons. If you like wine tasting, you will have close to 100 wineries to choose from between the Keuka and Seneca Lake Wine Trails. One of our favorites is only a quarter-mile from the house, easy walking distance!! There are also some excellent craft breweries and micro-distilleries throughout the area too.
Only 3 miles away, Penn Yan is a lovely little town with Main St shopping and enjoyable pubs and restaurants. If you're looking for more variety and are willing to drive 20-30 minutes, there isn't much you can't find in food and entertainment, whether it's Watkins Glen and Hammondsport to the South, or Geneva and Canandaigua to the North. The Finger Lakes is a wonderful area to bike and hike in addition to all the water activities!
