It was perfect for the long weekend getaway with family and happy it was very dog friendly. Christine was great and very welcoming, making us feel right at home! The view and property was awesome but the sauna was the bonus - we will definitely be back!
These cabins are absolutely amazing. Christine is the Best host!!! These cabins are tucked away, quiet on a peaceful lake. They have everything that you need amazing clean and just what you need for a relaxing getaway. I will be visiting again and highly recommend these cabins!
Christine is a great host & the cabins are always pristine & comfortable. This is our third stay at this property & it will not be our last. Peace & quiet combined with access to beautiful Otter Lake makes this a place to make a vacation perfect. Thank you Christine!
A lovely rustic cabin on a peaceful lake. We stayed in cabin 3, which had two bedrooms. The cabin was clean and well equipped with amenities. A great view of the lake. A nice porch with table and chairs. There are row boats, canoes and kayaks available. We took the row boat out one evening and really enjoyed the tranquil setting. The sunrise was awesome. Definitely will teturn another time.
This was our 2nd time here and it was great! We love the cabins and Otter Lake is quiet and beautiful. We will be back again in late spring. This place is great!
What a terrific place to relax and unwind with family! The cottage was very clean, the lake is pristine, and all of our needs were met. We’ll be back! An earlier check-in time would be helpful.
We just wanted a quiet and beautiful spot to spend a couple days. Kolme #3 fit the bill: nice front porch with view of lake, a small but usable kitchen with cooking supplies and dishes, comfortable bed and sitting chairs, a good fan (it was hot).
This little log cabin was a great location at the base of the Keewenaw Penisula. It was an easy drive to the Porcupine Mountains, Copper Harbor, and L'Anse. Beautiful sunrise over the lake. A no frills cabin that was a good base camp for us for three nights.
I loved this spot. It’s cozy and isolated, and right in the middle of all the places I wanted to go. The host was super friendly and responsive. I would highly recommend it.
Exactly what we needed.
A very full and relaxing week-
Inviting (Christine"s special touches) clean, very comfortable original Finish (style and decor) cabin (#3).
We sauned - lots!, swam, played badminton often, found the last (2) of the raspberries on the camp road, took the row boat out, played on the paddle boards, and went out in the kayaks- visited the otters, turtles, blue heron at the south end of the lake and went to town (Houghton) to bike the river trail there and eat pasties.
We will be back.
The cabins are very rustic, comfortable and laid back. The lake is Inviting. We saw numerous Bald Eagles, caught a lot of fish and even tried out the 2 person canoe provided by the resort. I highly suggest visiting the Keweenaw Bay area while staying cozy in this smaller (7 cabins) resort. 5 stars all around!
Cabin has rustic feel yet all modern necessities. Otter Lake has nests of Bald Eagles and Loons. Owner Christine is very friendly and helpful. Manninen’s Cabins are a place for family, friends and dogs!
Our stay was wonderful. The cabin was vintage from fridge to stove. We enjoyed the quiet lakefront. We were beyond thrilled to see a young black bear twice!! Christine is a superior host! A place to revisit!
