"Very remote location- having a 4WD was helpful. Place was clean- no spiders or webs. The rental company was easy to communicate with. Would have been nice to have a space heater as the available heating is insufficient. Mattresses are a hard foam (some people may prefer this, but I was up all night). Much of the place has been renovated, but more is necessary. My adult daughter enjoyed our one night stay."

"We stayed at this specific hotel recently on the way to NY from NC. Its was great, clean, staff were awesome from check in to check out. Coffee was always stocked and hot. Breakfast very good. Great variety 👌 Rooms were clean and spacious. We were so please, we stayed again on the way back home. NOEL checked us in both times. We used to hotles.com to book it both times. Super easy. Definitely recommend this hotel in Winchester Va."

"Tried to call the actual hotel numerous times and the 800# numerous times because we were visiting with people we traveled to see and was afraid wouldn't make it there by 8PM. However, we left our engagement to avoid arriving too late for check-in. (the latest check-in time per the website and confirmation) The line would not be answered and/or would ring into their fax line. When we arrived, I was told "I thought something was going on since the fax line kept ringing and no calls were coming through our desk phone" and then was told " oh, that isn't the correct info as far as the check-in time. We are here all night. I've told my manager to correct it but guess he hasn't" Then the room smelled horrible and let me just say; there is NO resting if you are on 1st floor and near a door. Saturday and Sunday morning; we were awakened all night to slamming door from the side entrance and the constant stomping noise from the room above us. We have stayed at this hotel prob 6x and it gets worse every time. We have decided to stay elsewhere."

"It may have been the number one hotel in town 30 years ago. Today, however, the balance between price and quality has shifted heavily toward the price, while the quality has unfortunately fallen behind. We stayed in a suite directly under the roof, and throughout our entire stay there was a loud banging noise every 35–45 minutes. The hotel was unable to eliminate the problem, which meant we were woken up repeatedly during the night. Not exactly ideal when attending a large family event and trying to get proper rest. It might be a good idea for the hotel to hire a professional to properly repair the issue instead of relying solely on the hotel handyman. I m not a typically complainer, but if you pay the monthly cost of a midclass car leasingrate per hotel night, you might expect, at least to have and undisturbed sleep."

"Nice, clean hotel at a good price. Comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We came from a wedding and had a lot of leftover food and part of a wedding cake, and the staff kindly kept it for us in their fridges. Breakfast was good- I appreciated all the toppings for the waffles. Excellent experience."
