"Fabulous stay in a wonderful location. The staff are truly top-notch. Attentive and friendly. Every request was answered with “Of course, with pleasure!”. Food was excellent. Morning coffee with steamed milk delivered to our room early morning so we could sip and watch the sunrise from our balcony. A variety of on-site tours are included. The guides are excellent. Special shout-out to Sandra for finding the small Red-eyed tree frogs during the night tour. Scarlet macaws flying all over the lodge, monkeys everywhere, all sorts of beautiful birds and interesting critters right outside your room. The grounds and views are beautiful. Hike to a waterfall within ten minutes. Pool is nice too. They will take you down to the secluded beach and set you up with chairs and cooler. The beach is beautiful but very rocky. We had the Matapalo suite. Very nice though close to the entrance and main road so the intermittent traffic noise was a minus. We had a small issue with a large wandering spider and then a bark scorpion getting into our bathroom (each just once) but they responded within 3-4 minutes both times. They installed a door sweep on the bathroom door within hours to prevent them entering the bedroom- very speedy response. The view was outstanding however. Overall Lapa Rios is an outstanding lodge with wonderful staff, and I cannot recommend it enough. Five stars. "

"There are not enough positive words we can say about this place. It was truly an astonishing, incredible and unforgettable experience. We intended to go on a guided tour into the national park via the sirena ranger station before we arrived, but there was no need as all the wildlife you could ever hope for was right there on your doorstep. We saw 3 out of the 4 species of monkey native to Costa Rica including the Capuchin, Howler and spider monkey, we saw pelicans flying along the beach, Macaw Parrots, Pigs, Coati, Agouti and numerous birds and insects. Joel the host and owner is amazing, he couldn't help us enough and even treated us to a personal guided walk through the rainforest in a secret location very close by. We never return to the same location as there is alot of the world we have on our travel list, but this is the first time that we are considering going back. If you like being as close to nature as possible while having your creature comforts this is the place for you. There are no walls to the treehouse which means you are always at one with nature, it is truly magical. A wonderful place to stay for my 40th birthday. A word of warning, you must hire a 4x4 vehicle with a good amount of clearance. Our vehicle was a Mitsubishi ASX which was JUST high enough. It was good fun getting there but would of been even more enjoyable if we got a better off roader. Stock up at supermarket at Puerto Jimenez and fuel up before you leave. Thank you again Joel. "The unit was a very nice place to stay. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend if possible, to have lighting over the dining table. It was rather dark to read or eat at the table. I also had difficulty finding the unit using the map on your website. "

"It had been 25 years since we had been to Matapalo. It had hardly changed. Place is so amazing.Also Casa Verde is an amazing house. Joel the care taker of the house stays close by and can help you with anything you need. Make sure you take a short walk and a hike to King Loui waterfall.If you want to fish. We scored big time with Donald with Dos Mas fishing charter. Great captain and bigger boat.I can not say enough about how much we loved staying at Casa Verde. Will definitely be back! Pura Vida..."

"Nice large property on a beautiful piece of land. Very easy check in and the easiest check out process out there. The house was clean and aired out, no musty smells! Kitchen very well equipped, beds were comfortable and spaces were large and airy. We loved the pool. It was the BEST part of the stay! I'd stay here again hands down."

"Our stay at Pavones Point was perfect! The location is right at the top point of Pavones surf break. Walk right across the road and paddle out…or walk a little down to the right for a bit less intense wave. The condo was clean and spacious…had everything we needed. Clean towels, comfortable beds, coffee maker, toaster, blender. No salt or pepper and no trays if you plan on making bacon or roasting anything. And no full length mirrors but the location makes up for that!"
