"Stayed at 5 different Hilton properties this last road trip. The best one was in Pine Grove PA. Breakfast was not great in any of the hotels. Seems like powered eggs were used. Fine for camping but not hotel food. Also apparently I can’t use “points” until I have a huge amount. At least on the other travel apps I can get actual cash back as I travel. Will be checking out other hotels in the future"

"I am a property manager. They had clearly recently underwent renovations, the staff at the desk was awesome but it was immediately apparent to me that corporate has not dedicated the funds to address prior smoking odors or to properly staff the hotel with cleaning staff. My room had not been prepared with enough towels (one bath towel was provided), the cigarette odor was so profound that i had to run the AC constantly to manage it so I didn’t get a headache, there were cigarette stains on the night stand, coffee cups had not been restocked, the shower had not been cleaned in at least two weeks given visible discoloration. These are jot health or safety issues but they did greatly contribute to how I felt about my stay. I could tell that the desk staff was diligently working to manage guest frustrations that were occurring from being sold false expectations about the condition of the hotel. Corporate needs to allocate funds to ensure a sufficient cleaning staff is retained and to mitigate lingering cigarette odor in this hotel. "

"The hotel advertised breakfast on Expedia. However, when I asked what time breakfast was served, the maintenance/front desk staff told me they have not offered breakfast “in a while.” Check-in was also extremely unorganized. When I arrived, I waited approximately 30–45 minutes for someone to come to the front desk. Once the clerk arrived, they had to call the property owner at home to confirm my reservation. I specifically requested a non-smoking king room, but I was initially assigned a smoking room with two queen beds. The room was dirty, and the bedding was old, worn, and torn. The following day, I was moved to a king room, but unfortunately that room also had cleanliness issues—there were visible spider webs hanging from the ceiling, and the bedding was again dirty, with cigarette burns similar to the first room. I was also told the owners are waiting until the Masters to purchase new bedding and make updates. While I understand some properties are independently owned, I have stayed at other Sonesta locations and this experience was far below what I expect from the Sonesta brand. Independently owned or not, Sonesta should not allow a motel/hotel to operate under its brand without thorough vetting and ongoing quality standards."
