The place was clean; the box fan was much appreciated to put in the window and cool the room; and the microwave, fridge, toaster, and coffee maker received a lot of use in our room.
The room has been painted since the pictures were taken. There are also a couple pictures in the listing that belong to another room, which was deceptive. There is nowhere in the listing that says you cannot enter the lake from the studio. We brought our dog and selected this location specifically because we thought she could swim daily but that was not permitted.
We also would have used a dish drainer if there had been one. The trees show evidence of people trying to tie hammocks or drying lines. Having a more permanent location for line-drying wet clothes/towels would protect the trees and benefit the guests.
The rugs upon entry should also be replaced with something with grip on the bottom. The rugs just balled up and slid around and left sand behind, not serving their purpose well.
We went to Whitefish Point and enjoyed the sunset among the beautiful rocks and driftwood on the sandy beach. Sunrise from the bench on the property was lovely. Watching the lights of freighters go by and seeing the Canadian wind turbines flash red in the night was really cool too. We went to the Rivermouth Roadside Park and the water was wonderfully shallow and warm with a sandy beach.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay but would not return due to inability to enter the lake on site.
