The staff was friendly and help us purchase the El Camino pilgrim passports to collect our stamps. They helped us even though we arrived late and they have a great restaurant with very delicious food just next door where you can request your first stamp. "Just a short walk from the city gate we found this was a handy location to visit Lugo. The room was clean and the WiFi was fast , the bathroom was well equipped but the shower over the bath lacked any power. There was a kettle in the room but no coffee or tea making supplies which we found odd. The staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived by train which was an 18 minute walk up a steep hill and no buses appeared to travel close to the hotel area so be prepared. I’d highly recommend Lugo for at least 2 days to see the Roman sites. We didn’t try breakfast as cheaper alternatives are available in the town a few minutes walk away. Overall a great secure place to stay if visiting Lugo."

"The place is spectacular. The staff was very helpful. Could benefit from a good cleaning. The food was terrible. We have eaten some very nice meals in many paradores but here, no can do. Even the food in the cafeteria was mediocre. It is a pity bcs it is very convenient to be able to eat right there. Needs improvement."

"The setting is fantastic, almost on a mountain top. The hotel is an old monastery with 3ft wide walls and wonderful views of nature. They have a full spa to relax. We took one of the many walking routes around the hotel. Highly recommend if you like hiking through tons of greenery. The temperature was warm during the day and cool at night. All personnel we interacted with was very helpful and amicable. I recommend contacting the hotel directly if you are not driving from Ourense, our navigator got a bit confused."

"I was the only person staying at this hotel which was a bit disconcerting as it really is in thr middle of nowhere - about 1.3 km off the camino. But it is excellent. The staff could not have been nicer, and more accommodating. Even though i was the only person staying, they still put out the full dinner and breakfast buffet. I was treated like a king! If you want somewhere truly rural, a bit off the camino (i walked back to it the next day in 25 mins), this is an interesting, unique, peaceful place. Tamara who works there cooks, cleans, does reception - everything. She is a star."
