"I really enjoyed my stay. I was able to travel easy due to the property being a five minute walk from a few different bus stops. There are also some decent places to eat out around as well. Chris was an awesome host helping me whenever I needed it. Everything was provided, except for shampoo. I brought my own, but others may find that unexpected. "We were lucky enough to get a suite with a view of the harbor. The suite had a separate living room, so my sister and I each got our own space and separate air conditioning units. The suite was quite roomy with a lot of space. Hotel was fairly well located. We had an excellent view of Valletta and the entrance to the harbor. There were restaurants and shops close by and we were only a 10 min walk to the Ferry. This hotel was great and I would stay there again."

"This is a well appointed amazing hotel. I had no idea how large it was. It’s very efficiently run. The staff are very friendly and helpful. It is very clean The children’s pool with slides is perfect - we had my 2 year old granddaughter with us. Ricardos and Luzzo restaurants are particularly good. In both restaurants there are large well equipped children’s areas. We also liked the adults area especially the sky bar in the evenings and had a wonderful meal at Minoa restaurant on 11th floor with fab views over the bay. The outside area is safe and pleasant unlike many popular areas in Malta which are just shocking. AX hotel is expertly run and I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend this hotel"

"Super nice front-desk staff, this is very important as it is always the first impression you have of the hotel. Check-in and out was very easy and seamless. Not sure if the hotel is old or just not very well maintained, but my room smelled very strongly of a musty odor which did not air out or disappear over the course of my stay, and which actually permeated my clothes after only a three night stay and travelled with me for the remainder of my vacation that I concluded in Gozo. The hotel is by the waterfront and Malta is humid, but I'm sure this cannot be the reason, otherwise all hotels in the same area would have the same issue. That being said, the hotel does give you free access to an awesome beach club across the street, and for the price you pay in this area compared to the other hotels nearby, it is an obvious choice. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was fine."

"The hotel is situated overlooking the lovely Balluta Bay, which is the quiet and less crowded area of St Julians. The hotel is magnificent and worthy of its 5-star status, which superb pools, from rooftop to very large main pool with plenty of space, the inside pool and spa was very relaxing. All staff were excellent, of particular note was Sanju who provided exceptionally friendly, kind, and attentive service, throughout our stay, nothing was to much trouble and her knowledge of the island, where to go and how to get there was exemplary. Breakfast was fabulous with the egg station at the centre, often managed by Renno who gave a master class for multitasking. A relaxing holiday."
